3.) Although this was a good Notre Dame team, the 1991 and 92 teams were better than this squad. They had better talent and more experience. I can't believe neither of those teams did better than this 93 team. Now granted one could argue that this 93 team had a little easier schedule than those two.

Having said all that, Notre Dame got screwed and their should have been a split national champions awarded to both the Irish and Florida State. The AP polls were tied of Notre Dame. Enough said.

Three things I want to point out here: 1.) Even if Notre Dame were to have won this game and gone on to play Nebraska in the Orange Bowl for the title, I don't know if they beat Nebraska cause there were very similar type teams.

2.) If Ron Powlus the crown jewel of Notre Dame recruits of 1993 doesn't get hurt in the preseason, the Irish don't go undefeated up to this point against BC and contend for a championship. He would have made mistakes that would have hurt the Irish.

I remember this! I came away thinking...this is the greatest college football game I'd ever seen.Tennessee vs Norte Dame in the early 90's was another classic.

This was a great game but BC vs Miami in 1984 was the greatest game, because it was in a rainstorm. BC was up by 14 in the first, then Miami went up by 7in the second. Then at the end when Flutie threw the Hail Mary into the EndZone to Phalen was what made it the greatest college football game of all time

The greatest college football game I've ever seen. Still don't know how that knuckler went thru the uprights. Too bad BC ended up blowing it a week or two later against West Virginia at home, but still amazing amazing game.

I was there. As a life long ND fan, never will a Irish loss hurt as much as this one did. As much as it pains me to say it, BC deserved to win the game. Pete Mitchell was unstoppable that day. ND deserved to split the NC with FSU that year.

No ND deserved it all. Look at 1989 When Miami beat ND head-to-head, but Miami lost to FSU and still gets the title. Go to 1993 ND beats FSU head-to-head but loses to BC and FSU gets the title.

ND should still have gone to the national championship. Both ND and FSU had one loss, FSU's losing to ND. Even though ND beat FSU for some reason they jumped to #1...

This game was worse than that since the 95 Northwestern team went to the Rose Bowl and ended up beating Michigan and Penn State that season, then losing in the Rose Bowl to USC who ND defeated during the season.

Yes - this moment has caused many "irish" fans a great deal of heartburn. This is the last time that notre dame was ranked #1 and since this crushing defeat at the hands of Boston College, ND has lost 10 straight bowl games.

ND has also lost four straight to their nemesis, BC.
