  • @wafflelikerboyremade Just a heads up for you. Since you said you're fat, you wont get much leaner/loose fat by only doing strenght workouts. If you want to get rid of fat, the best thing for you to do is Cardio training, which is running. Sweating. But aswell, put in some strenght workouts aswell, to get stronger and get more definition.   • @luandemberg thanks man, I love doing that stuff too, I have a system going, I'll do 1 lap around the house, 4 situps, and 1 pushup. Then 2 laps, 8 situps, and 2 pushups, and so on. I just accomplished 600 jumping jacks today.

  • @Wh0Dr No, knee pushups are not as effective as standard pushups. The main reason a person would do knee pushups is if they are not strong enough to do standard pushups. In that case, they should do knee pushups until they build up the strength to do standard pushups. If you're strong enough to do standard pushups, I wouldn't bother with knee pushups except if you're doing a drop-set where you as many standard pushups as you can, then drop to the knees and do as many knee pushups as possible.

  • @stormwolf4063 You might want to go to your doctor and check to see what has caused your moobs. If it's just bodyweight stored around your chest area, then you can probably dial in your workout and nutrition to get rid of it. But if your moobs are excess tissue around the chest area (gynecomastia), then you'll need to have an operation to have it removed. Working out and dieting does nothing to reduce/remove that tissue once it has developed.

  • @stormwolf4063 Moobs are definitely not muscle. If you can flex your moobs then they're not moobs. In that case, I don't know what to tell you.

  • Usually I do flat chest press, incline, decline, flys and sometimes push ups if I'm still not out for the count. Hope this helps. :)

  • The 'variations' of push up all really seem the same.

    But for people looking to get effective results for your chest from just push-ups, you won't see much if any results.

    When doing chest, push ups are good but doing a single exercise will not do much. To destroy your chest (which is what you need to do), make sure you do about 4 - 5 different exercises, with weights, to get stronger/bigger. Usually I do flat chest press, incline, decline, flys and sometimes push ups if I'm still not out for

  • we had a video on constant stream in prison that showed many pushup variations...i still cant figure out the tut (time under tension) pushups though...are they done the standard way but with a pause before the pushup??

  • another excellent way to do a pushup is to use 2 basketballs. 1 for each hand. turns a regular push up into a free weight push up. also a 2 level push up is great. using 2 steps spread wide enough to do a wide push on and have a space in the middle. position your self between the steps and start out with a regular push up. launch your self up to the steps do a wide push up and launch yourself back to the regular pushup position.

  • @DerKleineHai Staggered pushup emphasizes the chest and anterior deltoid on the side where your elbow is out, and the triceps on the side where your arm is in (so make sure you always perform an even number of total sets of this exercise, with an equal number of sets done with each hand position). Staggered pushups also work your core muscles in a unique way because the offset hand position makes your body more off balance than with a regular pushup.

  • @DerKleineHai you can let out little farts with staggering push ups..... move left, let out a little fart.... move right, fart...etc.... if you just go traditional, your buttcrack is too clenched to let one rip.... and then you end up sharting instead. thats no good.

  • @23kyleadams it really depends on the type of pushup. I put my feet close for most, but with a lot of more difficulty pushups that require balance (hindu pushups, one handed) you should be spreading the feet wide

  • @bstevans0 I don't believe in the theory that you can isolate certain parts of your chest. Flat bench press, incline bench press, and decline bench press all basically work your chest the same way. It's a myth that you can target your upper/lower, outer/inner pecs. With that said, ask any bodybuilder for advice about this and you'll surely receive a ridiculous answer about all kinds of silly ways to isolate certain parts of your chest. I think that's BS, but to each their own.

  • @modeathletics Thanks dude, from my experience i can tell you that i do notice that the incline press helps my upper chest more than the flat press. Probably the trick is to do all variations.lol

  • @bstevans0 Between flat bench press and incline bench press, theoretically there is no difference in the involvement of the clavicular pectoralis major (upper pecs). This was tested in a study called Effects of Variations of the Bench Press Exercise on the EMG Activity of Five Shoulder Muscles -- Barnett, Chris; Kippers, Vaughan; Turner, Peter. 1995. From the study: "the clavicular head of the pectoralis major was no more active during the incline bench press than during the horizontal one".

  • @zzXragXzz Chin-ups if you have access to a chin-up bar. Underhand grip bodyweight rows if you have access to a bar that's about waist height that you can hold on to while you row. You need a chin/row bar in order to do bodyweight exercises that work the biceps. Otherwise you'll need dumbbells or resistance bands, or workout straps such as the GTX Suspension Gym.

  • @megaminiman Pushups are primarily a chest exercise, but they also work your triceps. Close-grip pushups primarily work the triceps. Pushups do not work the biceps.

  • @bleujae1 With staggered pushups you have one elbow out (like a normal pushup) and one elbow in (like a close-grip pushup). This means staggered pushups emphasize more chest/shoulders on one side, and more triceps on the other side (remember to switch your hand positions for the second set, and do equal amount of sets with both hand positions). Also, because of the offset hand position, balance and core stability become more emphasized compared pushup variations where both arms are the same.

  • @hologramix1 get some protein powder and mix it with milk drink that with each meal and eat until you can't eat anymore and do maddd pushups keep doin that and you should see results pretty quick

  • @monkchi Good observation. Yes, the pike pushup is a shoulder exercise. The pike pushup isn't the only non-chest exercise in this video. Close-grip pushups are a triceps exercise.

  • Hands further apart is better for chest. The "close-grip pushup" is primarily a triceps exercise. To effectively work your chest, your hands should be slightly wider than shoulder-width apart.
