Simon definitely has the most epic theme of all the Belmonts. So epic it actually sends chills down my spine. And it always pops up in my head when I walk into a very gothic environment like a cathedral.
@Mitsuraga How can you think it was a cheaper version? Other than it being the same song, it sounds completely different. Portrait of ruin sounds laid back and just relaxing... Chronicles sounds way louder and more dramatic, both are great but they sound very different.
Well, here, it seems to be that way. I just turned on my copy of Portrait of Ruin, and "Theme of Simon Belmont" sounds more like Chronicles, only less grand. It doesn't sound laid-back, as Tiamat has presented it. Perhaps he's going off of a different version, or used the wrong song altogether, because it definitely sounds different from mine.
I can't believe everyone forgets about Julius! I mean he's the Belmont that defeated Dracula once and for all. I'd have to say my order of Belmonts would have to be 1. Julius 2. Simon 3. Trevor and 4 Richter
Yeah, but we haven't even seen him do that. I think Julius might be more immediately remembered, if he got a cool trademark tune. Hell, even Christopher has his own theme song.
On that note, my order would be Trevor, Juste, Simon, Leon, Julius, and then Richter, my least favourite (but still cool). I didn't count Christopher, since they never gave him a distinguishing personality or appearance.

It would be cool if Simon Belmont was forced in the afterlife to fight countless wars in hell, working as a mercenary for mighty Satan in order to uncover the secret and cause of vampirism in the world of man.
Simon quest was like the original "metroidvania". It has obvious flaws, but most of them are something many games of that era shared: they werent self explanatory (you need a guide to play them)
I like Simon's Quest but in my opinion it wasn't as good at it would be and it have a few bugs. They can make great Castlevania-RPG by remading Simon's Quest.
Me too. My first Castlevania. Bloody Tears haunted me entire decade ! At the end, I remembered the greatness of this music, but i forgot in what game it was !! Also, SQ has a "fresh" aura in Castlevania series, by exploring lakes, mountains, forests, cimetaries, villages... and the scary mansions !
And the music ! Bloody Tears, Silence of the Daylight, Messenger of Darkness, Duelling of Doom, Monster Dance, Within those castle walls !
Yeah, they could make it 3D or 2D since either way, they'd have to rebuild it from the ground up, inherently fixing a lot of the game's problems, while still keeping it true to the experience, Very much like Super Castlevania IV to the original Castlevania. Best of all, though, is that they'd best use Ayami Kojima's design of Simon. Curiously, Simon's sprite in Simon's Quest had a red tunic and had a lot of black. Kojima-san could have very well used that sprite as reference.

@AdoreYouInAshXI Actually I thought that the Bloodlines version was the best of all. And I have compared all of the official versions.

Chronicles makes my #2. I think the Portrait of Ruin version was just a cheaper-sounding version of the one featured in Chronicles.

Next time, add a fade effect in between songs.

I second what LPBHeretic said. Your work stitching these (Epic) tunes together can only be described in one word: Flawless.

I love the Theme of Simon! Also, you did a great job transitioning between the different versions of the song. :)
Thanks for posting this up. Good work! :D

I always wished Simon's Quest would be remade as one of the more recent-styled castlevanias.
