I live in Boston. It takes about 2 to 3 years on Average to get a permit to carry if you can prove the need. Once you have the gun if you ever use it you have to prove you tried to escape, if not you are charged with homicide. I wish Mass would adopt the castle law.

The law in Australia is pretty dumb if someone robs you, you can't shoot them you simply call the police and WAIT for them. By which point the robber will be gone... if infact the person(s) are carrying a weapon(s) even then you can't shoot them unless your are certain they intend on using them for the purpose of serious injury, murder. But quite frankly I don't give a shit if someone comes into my house I'll either horribly injure them or kill them if I feel that I have no other choice.
