I've owned this pedal for 10 years . . . It is honestly the best tremolo pedal I've ever heard. I do really wish they would make a metal body version with a metal button but to be honest I have been using it live for ten years and never had a problem with it.

Cool cat trem is very nice, stay away from the Boss TR-2 nasty volume drop.

Newer versions of the TR-2 have a mild level boost (I have one). Very nice for subtle tremolo, but when you go for "How soon is now?" style chop it's still a touch too quiet.

in the newer versions there actually is trim pot inside for setting the output volume, so try setting that, if it's too quiet ;)

All that should matter is what a pedal sounds like, not what it's going to look like to a bunch of guitar nerds, who are the only people who would possibly notice or care.

I have one of these, and it's a damn good Fender/Vox style tremelo, and once you factor in the price it's absolutely unreal. I'd go with the Dan-o, because it does its job very well, and honestly, it's not an effect you're likely to use very much so why spend a ton of money on it?
