America is going down the path of Rome. It started as a republic and then was corrupted through back room politics, which then was raped to become a democracy then it turned into an oligarchy. America is in the democracy state where we vote for only 2 type of people they want you to vote for. We are soon fast to become an oligarchy.
What really annoys me is that all these people in my local community speak of our soldiers "defending our nation." They are NOT defending the United States of America; they are playing a useless role in attempting to keep Middle-East peace and keeping the oil flowing. I shudder to think that so many have lost their lives and loved ones to a pursuit when the United States is, in fact, NOT under attack. But that's just me... Maybe I'm not seeing it right.
Jesus Christ, you Americans are so stupid; you have missed your chance to have an empire. Just because you have military bases in a few countries does NOT mean you have an empire. Get used to it.
@DukeOfBlighty Many nations call the USA this, what is ironic is that the United States still exists..while the British Empire does not. This is something that I don't think the Founding Fathers ever thought possible.
@TheShadowParliament Mate, KNOWONE calls the Americans an "empire". Your voice is annoying and your nation is not an empire nor are they very popular around the world anyway. :)
@TheShadowParliament,The Louisiana Purchase happened because the French lost Haiti because Haiti was the $ making French colony from the sugar that the slaves had to work to make the sugar to go to Louisiana. Since they lost Haiti, they had no but to give it to the US because it wasn't worth anything to the French anymore.
@DukeOfBlighty Man you are so angry dude calm down.Britain got its ass kicked by the US during the war of independence. That doesn't sound very stupid to me. ;-)
@haythereis This is nothing about the Independence War, your a fucking dick dude, following every comment I make and trying to look a smartass; back off freak.
@DukeOfBlighty Aaaaaaaaaaah jaysus chill dude. You are the one with the attitude slagging off everyone.I am just a fucking smartass dick freak having a laugh you are the one getting nancy with everyone :-D Up the Empire!!!
@haythereis,Actually that's not true because the US had help from France because the British were really kicking the American ass. The British were close to winning the American Revolution.
@DukeOfBlighty As an American I can confess- we did miss our chance xD But we do have a political empire. We have almost as many territories as we have states; and those territories will bend to the will of the US government.
@cheerwine01 I would agree to some extent to that comment, but it is clear that your influence is waning. The Middle East, supposedly where most US influence is exerted is now collapsing and it has taken the West a long time to react. Many Pro-American dictatorships are now losing their hold over the region and this may have unforeseen consequences for US military ventures in the region in the near future. We will see of course.
@cheerwine01 Indeed. Perhaps the Middle Eastern Revolution will merely despose of one Pro-American crackpot for another. I do hope that American dominance in the world will continue, there is no nation at this time that can possibly imagine taking up the burden of the world's 'policemen' and 'financer'. The stability of the world - to some extent - hinges on American interventionism in affairs that affect the security and stability of the world. Because of this, Obama is too indecisive.
@DukeOfBlighty I'd say he's rightly undecisive. His actions directly affect the state of the world. I believe Jefferson's "Empire of Liberty" refers to the idea of the United States being a peace-keeping nation dedicated to the spread of democracy. In this case; it is not a dark idea.
@cheerwine01 Certainly not, like I said before; the US is the only nation at this time that could bear the burden of peace-keeping as the world's 'policeman'.
The founding fathers were British, they may of hated the British goverment but had family & friends in Britain & family is family.

@DukeOfBlighty And then we will suffer without oil. Another American mistake. To the effect that the "Empire" is falling-
I agree.
