  • I'm 15. I went on the leg press my first time 1 week ago. I did 6 plates with the sled.(each plate was 45lbs) Also, make note that I take powerline which means I climb utility poles daily. For extra info I am 192lb.

  • i have tried this exercise but it seems if your legs are at a more than 90 degrees you dont get full stretch and feel for the weight. i go a little below 90 degrees and i feel i get a better leg workout. true why would you do squats when you can do this and still get good functional strength.

  • Folks dont Fokus on the weigth, wer not on a D*** Comparison here. Take a weith that allows you to do the Exercise right and withing your recommended reps.

    Oh and Yes Squads are more effectiv, but:

    a) They are harder to do, so the press is good for a Beginner

    b) you should change your exercises all 4-8 Weeks so your Muscles cannot adapt to easy.

  • it is called variation... i agree that squats are the best exercise, but leg press does concentrate and does its job focusing on quads and less torture for your back (if done in the most proper form)... in a whole month, i do squats, leg press, front squat and back to squat with perfect form and highest resistance...try to vary ur workouts or ur muscles won't cooperate...

  • @ishldknwbttr yes just don't vary them every fucking week you downer. you should periodize it so when you plateau on one exercise, you move onto the next in 4-8 week cycles then when you get back to the main lift which would be the squat, you should shoudl be much stronger.

  • well, my dad told me the best way to grow stronger is to work 1 section of your body a day every week.you also have to get lots of protein,nutrition, and Sleep.

    I work Chest/back every monday

    take a day off tuesday

    legs on wednesday

    Shoulder/arms on thursday

    and on friday i do passing/recieving drills to prepare myself even more for football

  • @thedawg385 I was rep'ing over 500 when I was 16, its not unthinkable. I always had a natural big and strong lower body. Now I was only benching about 150 and could only curl 40 so.....I haven't lifted since so I have no clue what I as a 24 year old man can do.

My weight room teacher about 25 VERY Strong benchs like 300LBS can do 450LB about 20 reps to think you can do 45reps is BS or even to get the weight up BS!!! If you think your so strong post videos dumb ass.

  • Skip leg presses, son. Do squats instead.

    It depends on what other exercises you're going to do. I would say no more than 2 sets (not including a brief warm up set) for each exercise. For leg presses, 8-12 reps is a good range for you. Use whatever weight you need to do 8-12 reps with good form.
