  • Behan (Brenden) is a famious Irish peot, short story writer, novelist, song writer, play writer and Irish Republican

  • @filthyg08

Brendan Behan was actually a very good poet, whether you agree with his philosophy or not!

  • @filthyg08

and his brother Dominic was a great writer of prose and tunes, writing, amongst others, "The Patriot Game", "McAlpine's Fusiliers", "Avondale", "Famine Song" and "Liverpool Lou".

  • @filthyg08 behan also said there is no situation that cant be made worse by a policeman being present

  • Question: Does anyone know, what a 'behan' (mentioned in the first line) might be?

  • @D4l4m4r Behan is most likely a classic Irish writer, knowing Shane.

  • Can you not help but be happy inside when you hear this song?

  • farzanatasneem if you were truly a doctor or at the least an intelligent person you would realise that religion was used as a tool in ancient times to a) control the masses from being generally nasty to eachother e.g. don't murder, don't steal your neighbours wife etc. and b) explaining things that people didnt have a knowledge of e.g. how does a bird fly? a big man in the sky did it. Now we have the police force for mass control and science to explain things. Job Done. WHISKEY FTW!!! cider too!

  • 5 people didnt find the stream of whiskey

  • @thedarkchild1676 they were too drunk and busted their asses LOL

  • Coming from a mick who was named after Brendan Behan, I've always loved this Pogues song in particular! So true these lyrics!

Nothing to be gained by this wet thing called a tear, when the world is too dark and I need the light inside of me, I'll walk into a pub and drink fifteen pints of beer!

  • @BrenGun1971 I have a shot to that! IRELAND FTW!

  • Oh my God, Always cheers me up, if i'm feeling down. x

  • whoever doesnt like the pouges can go crap themselfs and jump off a cliff!!!!!

  • Hmmm.... Whisky.... Good whisky! Rivers of whisky :-)) I hope, I find the way into its Tavern xD

  • Don't be naive, folks - he's just trolling and being a dick.

    Do not feed!

  • Last night as I slept

I dreamt I met with Behan

I shook him by the hand and we passed the time of day

    When questioned on his views

On the crux of life's philosophies

He had but these few clear and simple words to say........

    SHANE'S NEW BEHAN

  • This song is absolutely awesome :) LOVE it!

Life is full of ups and downs, so up the music and down the whiskey! :D

  • @wolfgar50 ya myht jus be right thurr lad! ehehha YEaOuWGH!

  • @MatthiasIamthatis

Isn't it easy to identify those who are not Muslim by the cheap words they use in general talk 1

  • The best way to attract young people towards sin or something as obnoxious as alcohol is to SING a song that glorifies it.

The advertisements of alcohol and cigarettes are the cause of young people taking them as a part of their life. They realise that it is bad for them when the harm has already been done.

  • @farzanatasneem You are an idiot my friend!

  • @crickyw

Idiot are those who drink whiskey and sing a song in its favour till they get their livers developing cirrhosis

  • @farzanatasneem jesus u need 2 get a life.

  • @crickyw

    I am muslim

Muslims too believe in Jesus , peace be upon him.

  • @crickyw

We get a LIFE by shunning alcohol !

  • @peace4universe

    Good point !

  • @farzanatasneem You're obviously not irish ;)

  • @Boudiicca Ya I am NOT Irish.

    Do all Irish drink alcohol?

Is it a necessary part of their life?

  • @farzanatasneem Do all germans eat schnitzel? No...but it is a part of their culture. I have an Irish background, and Irish folk songs make me happy. If you know anything about the history of Ireland you may understand why many Irish folk songs talk about drinking...there were a lot of sorrows to drown.

  • @Boudiicca Those who want to indulge in alcohol, get an excuse for it.

Sorrows of life need to be dealt woth intelligence but alcohol takes away that power.

Alcohol has only one good use , and that is "to wipe off skin before any operation for antisepsis.

  • @farzanatasneem what are you gay?

what the fuck are you watching this video for?

have a fuckin drink and relax.

  • @slingerrUSA1

I watched this video because someone sent it to me.

Drinks cannot relax me as God has prohibited alcohol and I do not disobey God.

    I am a muslim

    :D

  • @farzanatasneem I was just fuckin with ya man do your thing.

    I drink mead religiously

    im odinist

  • @farzanatasneem Better to be drunken Shane MacGowan still alive and drinking in his 50's than a blown up 18 yr old in Baghdad. God can piss off if he doesn't like drinking, though fruits and vegetables do ferment and turn alcoholic naturally, so....

  • @DwnAszPunk

Baghdad has different circumstances than UK.

No one can dare to be drunken in Baghdad as drink reduces the capability to fight and one may get killed off if drunk, in that civil war.

  • @farzanatasneem Forget religion and race come have a drink with me.I dont have a religion personally it just defeats common sense.I dont fault religion it is a good way of keeping control and trying to instill morals just like time being a method of keeping people organized... Yes I am insinuating that time doesnt exist and "God' doent exist, but whiskey does so get drunk and party!

  • @alchoholic20

    whiskey rules,

    PS

when one man suffers from a delusion, its called a sickness

when many men suffers from the same delusion, its called religion ;)

  • @Boudiicca

Those who want to indulge in alcohol, get an excuse for it.

Sorrows of life need to be dealt with intelligence but alcohol takes away that power.

Alcohol has only one good use , and that is "to wipe off skin before any operation for antisepsis.

  • @farzanatasneem Yes all irish drink and a lot of us drink to ridic excess.it aint just a cliche

  • @clawlesslawless Better not to advertise alcohol to prevent younger generations from getting trapped in its bad habit

  • @farzanatasneem Alcohol really does not need to be advertised here. At the end of the day its personal choice whether you drink or not.

  • A lot of young people do it because it bad for them, not just because.

  • @farzanatasneem I am 18 I drink relentlessly; it has nothing to do with advertisements I just like the enjoyment of being drunk and the taste of alcohol; I am an Atheist so you can't persuade me with religous babble; so why have you commented on this video?!?!

  • @JonnyJustSpunkiied

Binge drinking is a very very harmful act for health.

I commented on this video as it was sent to me by an atheist like you. He wanted me to know what he felt about drinking.

Being a doctor I know about the adverse effects of drinking. Although LITTLE alcohol is proven at times to have health benefits or at least no harmful effect, when alcohol is left free to consume , most people do not limit themselves to "A LITTLE"

It is better to shun alcohol altogether.

  • @farzanatasneem Right your a doctor I can see your reason behind it; but Im a teenager who eats junk food; plays 10 hours of video games; stays up all night studying; etc ... so drinking isn't my biggest problem but a drunk is known to be the happiest man alive compared to every tee total stressed human today :)

  • @JonnyJustSpunkiied

What is the value of a lot of happiness if it lasts for a short time.

To be constantly happy for long and healthy life is the real happiness dear.

Harms of alcohol on body are known to most but its harms for society are even more than its' harms on human body.

A pious man was asked to commit adultery,or to commit murder or to drink alcohol,.

He chose the last one thinking it was the least of all sins and ended up committing the first two sins too.

    :)

  • @farzanatasneem Id rather have a short happy life than a long life filled with stress and no experience of enjoyment throughout it; but hey thats just my opinion I guess yours differs

And Im pretty sure religion causes more damage to society and a mans health than alcohol does

  • @JonnyJustSpunkiied

It is a common dialogue to say that religion causes more damage to society.

Were two world wars caused by religions ?

There is internal conflict even among brothers living in the same family but religion teaches men to ultimately resolve issues peacefully .

If things cannot be resolved peacefully then only one is asked to enter in war.

Once there is war, there also religion and atheism differ in their attitude that religious people forgive more after winning the war

  • @farzanatasneem

I can sum this easy DO NOT PUSH YOUR ISLAMIC VIEWS ON OTHERS It wont work, because you religion says Do Not Consume Alcohol. Just means...It sucks to be you

  • @n2123n

I commented on this video because it was sent to me by an atheist.

I was supposed to comment on it as he wanted to know how he feels with alcohol.

  • "When the world is too dark, and i need the light inside of me, I'll walk into a bar and drink fifteen pints of beer."
