That apart, the amygdala neuroscientist is clearly identified with his thesis and reluctant to admit any other. How would he treat a defective amygdala? Dr Hare thinks that simplistic and that it must include the Intangible: The Mind.

Others repeat the statement of 'the harm' that is done by psychopaths (presumably undiagnosed) yet 'the harm' is unquantified. What to think?

A couple of months' ago, my 30 y/o sister was visting our Mom. My 27 y/o brother, who lives w/ my Mom, was home. Somehow they all got into a fight and my brother got mad and threatened to physically hurt my mom and sister. Then he went out onto my mom's porch and started breaking chairs and things that BELONGED on the porch. My sister called the cops. She opened the door and said, "I called the cops." to my brother. He then proceeded to clean up the damage he had done and sat on the steps...cont

@TheChannyj28 ...and waited for the cops to get there. when they did, he started crying about how my sister came over and was being mean. Wondering aloud about why EVERYONE hates him. Being very charming. The cop then went into the house, didn't wait for my sister and Mom's side, and told them that if there is anymore trouble/problems, he'll be back to give THEM (sister and mom) a fine. My brother had been in the wrong and totally got out of it.

how about changing society first? deal with cruelty in early childhood, excessive mobbing and abuse in school and natural environment..how about getting ppl educated first? bcs it s society that gives birth to psychopaths and all the other mentally sick ppl. some r born with the tendency - i agree to that. but it s triggered by society as well. and that s one thing ppl should NEVER forget!! a simple saying: u get what you give...in this case society gets back what it deserves!

I don't think we should focus on changing the psychopath with a microchip rather we should change ourselves, stop falling for it, become more compassionate towards one another,not let their ideals run our society, teach our children what to watch out for. They have no power once exposed.

I think its ridiculous to think they it wouldn't be moral or ethic or whatever to create a chip or a pill or something that will change the way a psychopath brain functions, in order for them to have emotions, empathy, to connect with other humans. "God's given" really? so then use that term for people that were born with a heart disease, or any other organs problems! the main idea is to help them, feel something, love their kids if they have any, love their parents, be part of life!

micro-chips have already been and are being inserted in to some people's brains in the treatment of several disorders but mainly for the treatment of severe depression, ie. mood control. "resistance is futile, you will be assimilated in to the Borg" ;-)

@Paddyllfixit we were talking about the extremes of medical treatment in regards to my other Aunts Cancer and he just threw it out there that my other Uncles Wife (aka Aunt) had the implant inserted under her clavicle. I was astounded and have so many problems with that. No life lived with a machine forcing your neurons to fire can be called normal. They live a nutrient deficient, toxic, soul dead lifestyle. That is the problem. They refuse to address it and compensated instead. It's tragic.

The choice will be a) kill them b) institutionalize them permanently or.... c) potentially change the biological brain center. I have met them, I married a person with NPD... and they aren't the same, but if you truly grasp what these "people" are, it becomes harder and harder to actually call them "people." No, we shouldn't put chips in peoples brains to alter human behavior. I don't know why I think this, it just sounds wrong to me. However, I think we should still study and learn about the possibility of putting chips in peoples brains. Because, if we can learn to manipulate the brain, it may benefit us in the long run. It could help us age slower, or to be born with strong immune systems and so on. Which will insure our human races existence, on this round earth, and maybe beyond, SO ITS GOOD!

@guntherbladderburst U could put it like that, but the way I see it is that 1st. Without destruction, there cannot be creation. As everything is born from destruction, like the earth, the sun and so on. 2nd, If we didn't inhabit the earth, but life still thrived on it, but it was only low intelligent life. In time, the earth would be destroyed anyway, and all life too, such a waste of life. So I am happy that we are smart, tho we may wage wars. Because, we have the potential to protect life too.

@omegasher I like ur thinking and ur right, for there to be something to be destroyed something must have existed 1st, and that's the 4 forces I believe. They gave rise to energy in destruction, then energy gave rise to matter (hydrogen and helium,) then the force of gravity pulls it all together. Stars are born and in time they blow up littering space with the elements needed for life (carbon, iron, oxygen ext). therefor all elements are born in destruction and with out it u nor I could exist.
