@jem919 From what i gather its something to do with fighting styles- apparently Anakin used an offensive style which eventually proved to be his downfall when his rage got the better of him against Obi Wans defensive style, plus he wasnt really in the right state of mind when he faced Obi Wan!

Plus I think Mace was into some kinda style where you could use both the good and dark sides of the Force at the same time. The purest good Jedi got their butts kicked cause they couldn't see it coming, but Windu had some knowledge of the dark side, so he could deal better.

This was after that... Anakin is in the Temple, then he goes to the Palpatines "office" and pretty much kills Mace Windu... then he goes back to the temple and kills all the Jedi and then Palpatine meets with Anakin in the Jedi Temple and tells him that he has done a great job, which is where this recording is from.

The dialogue from Palpatines office is completely different.

@Xackadee Yoda knew Obi-Wan, despite his legendary skill, would be no match for Palpatine, so i'm guessing he sent Obi-Wan after Anakin knowing he might win, due to Obi-Wan knowing Anakin's fighting style, and in case Yoda died, one Jedi would still be around.

Remember, Palpatine could summon the imperial stormstroopers at any moment, but he preferred to duel Yoda; had both Jedi shown up, he wouldn't have dueled with them both, but rather he would've fled or had them hunted down by the stormstroopers

Besides, by splitting up, they half the risk that if one fails or is killed, the other might survive to rebuild the Jedi in the future.

By the way, Anakin technically did bring balance to the Force by decreasing the number of Jedi. That and the destroying of the Sith were two different criteria in the prophecy.

1)Neither Yoda nor Obi-wan could go after PalpSidious again because they lost the element of surprise. They only had one shot to ambush him and they failed so if they went after him again, he'll be ready for them by having his clonetroopers gaurding him.

2)Decreasing the number of Jedi did NOT bring balance to the force, it only throws it off-balance even further.

3) Obi-wan wasn't superior enough against Dooku which tells Yoda that Obi-wan has no chance against PalpSidious.

2) Yes it did bring balance. Two Jedi (on-screen) vs. two Sith sounds pretty balanced to me, more so than two-thousand Jedi vs. two Sith. No doubt that's not what the Council interpreted "balance" as, but that just shows they were wrong.

3) Yoda and Obi-Wan should have taken Anakin together, then gone after Palpatine. And they should also have had blasters so they could shoot Palpatine while he was unable to block.

1)PalpSidious has outsmarted them before and he'll do it again. Plus, they can't risk getting themselves killed thus making the Jedi extinct. They had to survive so they could train Luke.

2). George said that the force is brought into balance when the Sith are destroyed. killing off the Jedi only throws the Force further off balance.

3) Yoda can easily defeat Anakin by himself while Obi-wan is killed by PalpSidious which leads us to the Yoda/Sidious fight with the same outcome.

@Xackadee Obi-Wan was not so experienced with lightsaber as Yoda. Palpatine was a great Sith and Obi wouldn't stand a chance against him. That was pretty wise decision, especially since Obi was closest to Anakin and he had a chance to turn him back with help of Padme. If you seek stupid things in SW3 start from 4 jedi masters dueling Sidious - there is no way any sith could kill 3 jedi masters with such an ease....
