  • Good video of the WGH show there. I like that you got some footage of the Great Lakes European Trains Enthusiast's layout. You probably also saw the other ETE layout behind it (the ones with all the Preiser figures) that was the Chicagoland ETE layout.

  • Great video. I plan on going to the Great Train Expo here in Kansas City and doing a video tour also.

  • so you made it up here to the schaumburg convention center? what did you think of the show? i was impressed with the Will County model rr club and how they combined they're layout with the Trainmasters modular layout. i attended on sunday, overall i was impressed with the showing of all the different clubs along with all the different scales, there were some very impressive modular layouts in attendance.......would have interesting to meet you....

  • Great video. thanks...

  • The Chicago one looks like it had more than the one in Indy the weekend before. I'm going to the one in Cincinnati in March.

  • Is that layout in the museum DC or DCC? Thanks!

  • Hope to see that one day so much to see

  • Allow me to give you some facts on the CB&Q Zephyr. It started its service on May 26 1934. It was the first successful locomotive to use the two stroke diesel engine. This was the brainchild of Kittering, he was actually against the use of his design as a prime mover in a locomotive. The trip went from Denver Co to Chicago iLL. As a result this is what took place. The 1000 mile trip was completed in 14 hours. A top speed of 112.5mph and a fuel cost of $14.64. The landmark for the Pioneer Zephyr.

  • Great really enjoyed !

  • Outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing!

  • man i didnt see you, what day did u go? u should make another trip sometime, there is alot more trains to be seen!!

  • Too bad Athearn's prices have shot up so much and their QC has declined proportionally.

  • I saw that layout in the science of industry like once when i was in 4th grade for like 5 min wish i could go see it again.

  • great !!!!

  • You misspelled Chicago in the title.

  • @masterownerlml thanks, I fixed it....I was in the airport when I edited and uploaded this video.

  • Were you there on sunday or saturday? Because i was there on saturday.

  • @TheRichRobloxian Saturday from 10 am - 1:30 pm

  • @jlwii2000 AHHH how did i not see you?? i would have liked to meet you :)

  • Thanks so much for your videos. I really enjoy them and keeps me motivated for getting my layout around. Hopefully I'll start building this summer. Just side note, the big waterfall scene just before you got to Seattle in the layout tour there is Multnomah falls here in Oregon, just outside of Portland. There is a a mainline bridge just at the base that is cool to go railfan. You can stand directly under it while trains cruise by at 6omph. U.P. on one side of the river and BNSF on the other.

  • BTW I really enjoy the dutch stuff it makes me proud to see it there in the states. :-)

  • Really a sweet movie! Thanks for making and sharring it with us! Keep up the good work.

  • That engine at 7:01 is amazing. If only the fans moved like that on diesels...

  • That was magnificent. Thanks for the tour. I felt like I was there with you. How did you get in your car? What a jerk that person was. Again thanks for sharing.

  • @ROCKDOG5732 I had to literally climb in through the passenger door.

  • Man, I want to go to Chicago badly. The museum of Science & Industry's layout looks awesome and the New York Central #999 and the Chicago Burlington & Quincy Pioneer Zephyr are in great condition too.

  • No Friendly Confines of Wrigely?

  • @bklynsouth I did see Wrigley field.

  • @bklynsouth I'm sorry I meant on the Layout in the Museum.

  • Wow That Chicago layout is unbelievable, I would love to go to something like that and see it. I am more of a O-scale person but that is very nice. Thanks for posting.
