  • i'm a fan of you David. had been following all of your videos, very educating.

i would like to know what is that octobox you are using on 2:30"

    thank you

  • I love your work. Incidentally, I've had 100% of my income from photography since '04 and I don't know what PW is. Apart from size and weight, what is the advantage of using speedlights over small normans or Alien Bee's with a battery. I don't use my sb-800's that much because it seems that they are inconsistent. A lot of that may be user error, but a full manual flash seems to work best for me...

  • @pogues13 PW is Pocket Wizard

  • @pogues13 If you use Canon Flashes, RadioPopper has better results than Pocket Wizard. PW conflicts with Canon's Infared system, RadioPopper dont have any issue with it.

  • Fantastic video!

  • you're pro!

  • David, what is that beauty dish-looking thing (brand, model, etc.)? I didn't think they made beauty dishes, octoboxes, etc. specifically for small strobes...

  • the beauty dish is easy to make..just google diy beauty dish. one plastic planter a gutter part and a cd case plus one convex mirror from napa, some spray paint and some time...

  • What did you use to mount those threes strobes in that softbox? Where can I buy that setup (I already have strobes)?

  • Rarely do my photos require 3 strobes, most of my shot only require one strobe. Have several strobes allows me the ability to shape a shot the way I want. Key light, kicker and hair light if I chose. If you shoot, you know what a PW is.

  • 2:31 Small Strobes big power. No wonder, 3 Strobes in one SoftBox. That setup in itself is over 1,200 dollars when one can buy an AB-800 for 279.00 and make it portable with another 200 bucks. Hope the people don't jump into these workshops thinking they can do with what they currently own, Most probably don't even know what a PW is.

  • I believe that may have been included just to show that daylight can be overpowered with the shoe-mount strobes you already own, and I also do believe that most people interested in a workshop like this will own 3 strobes or at least 2 & just for argument's sake, let's say they don't. That's just 1 technique they cannot currently do (but will still know for the future). I really like a lot of what Mr. Tejada does, being a PJ I'll never own big lights but do own a small handfull of speedlites.

  • @commentchief $1,200? If you look around a bit you can pick up old speedlights on E-bay that will work like charms for $50.00 to $100.00 each. If you don't want to spend much time looking around, you can find them easily for $100.00 to $150.00 each. I shoot with 4 speedlights, and if you don't count one of them that I bought brand new for $400.00, the other three cost me a total of $190.00 - $45.00 + $70.00 +$75.00 - and they work beautifully.

  • @BloatedSensations

I agree you can buy speedlights @ those prices but you still wont be able to use Hi Speed Sync. $445.00 for 1 580ex2 Video show's 3. Thats allot of dough.

  • never the less. great vid. nice sound track. very inspiring

  • i appreciate the video and every thing like, but I prefere the technical vids were you interact and all.Its also usefull to see how you talk to people in the setting.

    great. keep them coming ;)
