  • OOooooooo A great song and a great movie, Well done.

  • it's ALWAYS GOOD when You survive a battle in a foreign land, i know. GREAT TUNE.

  • Maybe a stupid question but hmm.. why always the crap music?

  • Looks like 21 people got raided by viking awesomeness.

  • THis song puts hair on your chest. HAIL ODIN! HAIL THOR! HAIL THE ALL FATHER!

  • great song, great vid!!! *_______*

  • haha.. fucking awesome. This is really something, gotta say again awesome!!

  • Great movie, AWESOME fucking song !

  • Yeah the it's be better with the whole song....but....this is an INCREDIBLE video....Vikings and Viking Metal <3 What more could I ask for?;]

  • who are these 18 people that disliked this video and what the hell is their problem? this video kicks ass. perhaps those 18 people accidentally clicked Thumbs Down?

  • EPIC! <3

  • I know I already commented 2 months ago, and about 2 years before that, but I think this video is worthy of a 3rd comment just to say again how much this video rocks.

  • That is epic. Great song, great scenes from a great movie. Thank you for this!!!

  • "Its all right little brother....there's more"

i love when Buliwyf sticks the sword in the ground at 2:55, it goes perfectly with the song.

  • 2:57-3:45 and 4:11-4:50 are the best parts of an already awesome song.

Totally fucking badass. Thumbs up if you agree.

  • So, hotdamn, GOOD

  • best fitting video for this song

  • EPIC!!!

  • Kaunis!

  • viking power rock n roll!

  • I love this shit! Swords and balls. When i watch it i feel as it made up to me for being coward.

  • Werd. The warriors in this are fearless, tough and honourable.

  • very good vid

  • Amazing! One of my favorite movies and one of my favorite bands! Kudos!

  • No, this was real, but it was altered for the movie. There WAS an explorer who sailed with the vikings.

  • And his name was monkey

  • @Realiteit01. Eaters of the Dead by Michael Crichton. Sometimes people have a hard time separating fact from fiction. In the case of Crichton, he is quite good at blending the two into very believable works. ;)

  • Skitbra låt!

  • What does lai lai hei mean?

  • Lai lai hei doesn't mean anything at all. It's like la la la hey!

  • Hän katsoi maan reunalta tähteä putoavaa

Nyt kauniit kasvot neitosen peittää karu maa

    Jokaisen täytyy katsoa silmiin totuuden

Sillä aika ompi voittoisa, mut' tämä maa on ikuinen

  • Learn English

  • @Realiteit01

Should you have read the previous comment, you would have noticed that I have been done with the task for some years already.

  • Great song... it'll never fail. I was fortunate enough to hear it live.^^

  • i was fortunate enough to hear it live a couple times :D

  • What is teh name of evil guys? the one sthat atack?

  • Eaters of the dead

  • @Djebulba

    Wendol.

  • Thanks man.

  • goood film

  • Great fan tribute. Great song, great movie... I only took issue with cutting out parts of the song...

  • I kind of had to cut out some of the parts where there was no singing, just for the sake of not looking like a bunch of clips slapped together with no purpose for a long time, I just wanted it to get straight down to brass tacks.

That and no one'll try to steal an edited version - maybe they'll go out and actually get the real thing if they like this enough

  • @SergeStiles

This video was perfectly edited, great job with the song.. also, the including the "I am not a warrior.." lines made it even more immersive.

  • @SergeStiles How could anyone possibly not want to hear the instrumental parts????

  • @SergeStiles ur a hoe we all know

  • Wonderful movie, wonderful song.... and, of course, wonderful video!!!

    Great work!

  • this was based on eaters of the dead by michael crichton

  • Hail Odin!

  • OMG!

Now that is what I call beyond the realms of kickass!

good song choice and an even better video :D

    5 stars!

  • Wonderful tribute to this movie! Sure, the movie does test the limits of willing suspension of disbelief, but it's still cool enough to me to keep my interest.

  • its atrue story.

ahamed ibn fadlan wrote his story, and the script still exist.

  • WHERES a picture of this manuscript then LMAO!!!

  • Manuscript 5229,there is an other Manuscripts who quoted ib fadlan original script.

  • ok i asked WHERE IS THE PICTURE OF IT A VIDEO or some kind of PROOF! i need to see something where NOT NEANDERTHALS in this life time i know how much MAN CAN BULLSHIT and i want PROOF.

  • to see it you must go to Astane Quds Museum,i will send you alink in pv,

  • he's partially correct. Ahmad ibn Fadlan was a real man, who was sent as secretary to an ambassador from Baghdad to the Bulghars. And he did see and write about viking traders who had come to do business with the Bulghars, and actually witnessed a ship burial.

Him running off to fight cannibal bears in scandinavia is obviously pure fiction. :p

  • why dont you go look yourself? dont make other people do your own work

  • yea im pretty much past all this fictional bullshit and moved onto actual events in life like the MOORS!! yall have fun with your fables

  • You realize that only the first two chapters were from Fadlan's manuscript, right? The rest was just Crichton making things up. He plainly says so in the book's afterward.

  • VALLAHA I AM COMING

  • 1:39 "If you die. can I give that to me daughter?" lmao I love that part

  • 2:54 best scene!

  • great video, congratulations !

  • Great book = great movie + great song! It's Perf ^^"

  • Why you didin´t wrote finnish lyrics?I understand if our languange is hard... lyrics are here ---> "Hän katsoi maan reunalta tähteä putoavaa, nyt kasvot kauniin neitosen peittää karu maa, jokaisen täytyy katsoa silmiin totuuden, sillä aika on niin voittoisa mutta tämä maa on ikuinen" use those if you want...

  • bleh i just wish uni's in the state would teach it. japanesse, chinesse and such i can get, but no finnish, russian, norwegian, icelandic, sweedish.

  • Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the beginning...

  • Lo they do call to me they bid me take my place among them in the Halls of Valhalla where the brave may live forever

  • This is the Official videoclip from the Song?

  • nope it isn't

  • 1:35 that is a really bad way to hold a sword

  • Tyr is awesome indeed, but this is Ensiferum.

  • this song fits the film realy well! tyr is awesome!

  • can some 1 pls tell me what exactly means

    Lai lai hei

  • it has no meaning.. its a form of chanting or chorus

  • it doesnt mean anything in particular..its just something you say like when your happy or singing...lol

  • oh,i see thanks :]

  • As far as one of the Vikings wearing a Roman gladiator helmet, i used to think it was stupid. However, i re-read Beowulf and noticed it described one of the Vikings as wearing an "entish" helmet. The Norse who encountered Roman ruins in Europe called them "Ent Ruins" or the ruins of giants. I.E. a Roman helmet is an entish helmet. He probably acquired it somewhere on his travels.

  • yes the trade routes in those days streched all over the world. The vikings had Buddha statues and weapons from the middle east. Remember that they visited almost all parts of the world except the east.

  • they also say in eaters of the dead (and the movie i believe) that the vikings had traveled to most of the known work at that time, i also think this is historically accurate, although not entirely sure.

  • That movie was awesome but I don't see how 12 vikings & an arab can defeat an army of w/e they were fighting....I mean I know its an Hollywood movie but still....

  • the editing here is really well thought out, and does justice to both the movie and the song, both of which are awsome homages to the viking culture

  • great video!

  • this song is great, and the movie is too. one of my favourite movies of all time

  • The 13th warrior is one of the greatest films I ever saw. Good, because Ensiferum is the greatest Band I ever heard!!

  • Perkele saatana vittu! Sorry - I'm not Finnish - I just wanted to say that Ensiferum rocks! ^__^

  • Und die nordischen Männer sind die schönsten ;) !

  • 3:50 Arabic horse the Best and the most beautiful ever

  • yes its amazing

  • what is that song called and which language is it sang by apart fr english?

  • Ensiferum - LAI LAI HEI

    The non-english verses are Finnish.

  • thanks mate it's a beautiful song, well it sound nice lol

  • pirun hyvä

  • good

  • this is the catchiest song ever made.

i have the roaming wolves verse stuck in my head over and over and over again

  • Awesome movie!!!

  • the video is cutted perfectly for that song

i have seen such a good mix very seldom and i can only recomment it

Glory and honour for all Asen

  • love this song BTW the artist that sings "Lai Lai Hei" is "Ensiferum

  • hai hei katso silmiin totuuden jos uskallatte! Hyvä hyvä suomi go go

  • A great Song! Works well with the Video, thanks for Posting

  • Haha cool Go the vikings!

  • i have made a similar video with lai lai hei :)

  • great movie, song and band........... <333333333 viking metal

  • 13th warrior is underappreciated,ENSIFERUM IS IN US NOW LOOK IT UP AND GO SEE THEM,but leave before amon anass

  • They seemed to have a mix and match of armour in that movie. The helmits did not look viking.

  • One of them was a goddamn roman murmillo gladiator's helmet, it was kinda funny though seeing such ridiculousness in such an intense movie.

  • The vikings were raiders and the romans had been in battle with them before... But i dont know when this movie is meant to be happening, but it did seem weird.

  • I believe warriors in all ages used to wear looted armor/weapons if they were superior to their own.

  • true

  • nice

  • they sing in finish, its not related to the indo-european north-germanic languages. but its a beutifull language! ii myself speaks swedish, that is my mothertoung.

  • There were also Danish Vikings in that movie.. Cus some of the vikings speaked Danish and some of them talked swedish, Norwiegan.. ;D

  • All those languages derived from the Old Norse, in those times they were all speaking the same languages. The regional differences later evolved in the seperate languages.

  • SergeStiles can you try to do a video like this but with the Wanderer - Ensiferum song ?

    Tnks, awesom video btw ;)

  • The song is perfect, as is video, but it hes been shorten for 2 minutes, why???

  • Because for a video, I didn't want too long of just an instrumental intro - for those who haven't heard the song.

That and the program I use is a pain and closes all the time, had I done the full length song it would have taken a lot longer.

  • very nicely put together i like 13th warrior very much though i had to watch it over and over again to get into it.

  • Very nice video!

    Tough job. :)

    Well done. Thanks!

  • i dont know why but i love this vid. i havent seen ever this movie :D

  • Great vid, 5/5

Proud to have my roots in Finland!!!

"There's a place in the North, far far away

    Home of the wandering man

Dreaming fells with skies so pale

    Calm is the glorious land..."

  • Ensiferum is german. lol

  • Sorry but you are wrong, they are from Finland! They are even singing in finnish...Tämä maa on ikuinen...

  • Hmmm.. I didn't know that, thanks for info mate :)

  • well i am british and i am so jealous of all the great scandanavian bands over there. what have we got? dragonforce!!rock on turisas, stratovarius, wintersun, korpiklaani, ensiferum, Amorphis, nightwish etc. And all hail to the original battle gods, BATHORY! keep em coming!

  • i stand corrected on Ensiferum, but stratovarius are from FINLAND!

  • yes you are correct,my error,i thought they where from quebec canada, because of the stratovarius logo, the lys flower wicht is the flag of quebec ,canada, anyway i,d love to go to finland once to watch all those awsome band in there own country, they must play in little bars things like that.i saw paganfest in montreal ,turisas and ensiferum where really excelent, what a crazy show man.

  • never saw the paganfest when it hit UK, only played in london! saw Turisas here in norwich in march with ALESTORM! (check them out!)going to see Turisas again soon supporting dragonforce which should ROCK!!! would love to see Ensiferum but they have little success here so they only ever playt in london! spoilsports!

  • im norwegian also and some of my ancenstors were vikings so i think this movie honors them...praise odin

  • Except that Beowulf was a goth from Gotland that lived 200 years before the age of the vikings. ;)

  • Actually, he lived in Geatland (umlaut and you've spelled it right) in what is now modern Sweden. Several Norse Sagas mention Geat kings, so they were contemporaries. Beowulf was visiting the Danes... and the poem was composed in the 7th Cent. in East Anglia. (whose connection with Scandinavia is well known.) But hey, what do I know? ;)

    Vikings RULE. :)

  • In Swedish Geatland is Götaland. But it has been discussed rather heatedly between scholars, if Götaland or Gotland were his origins. According to the sagas, the goths fought the Svear across the sea. And we have no sea between us and Svealand in Sweden, unless they would reffere to Vänern which is Europes third largest lake.

  • Midgard --> Norway --> Home of true Vikings.

  • Well, im Norwegian. Home of the true Vikings.

    Hør Hør Odin!

And in the movie in the beginning in the tent of vikings, they speak a little bit Norwegian actually... But that normal on that time for vikings.

So i actually tink they are in Norway or Sweden in the movie, since they sail a long way in the movie.

  • fucin great movie...*****

  • This video has a very good edition but the scenes doesn´t have sense between them.

    Congratulations anyhow.

  • The spanish team? And what about Torres or Villa? or Sergio Ramos or Casillas?? its ok of course there is people who likes like arabs, but I dont think the most people likes like this, you are confussed because of the mediterranean race of Europe. Black hair, bronce skin in the coast (because of the sun) and all that topics

  • Well, Im spanish and im blonde with green eyes, sure you havent travelled to Spain, then you would see spanish doesnt like like arabs...there is something worse than stupidness..it is ignorance

  • just look in the spanish team there's players who look like arabs, that's not the problem , i'm algerian from north africa and i'm white with blue eyes, and that's not the thing who make the man special, just read about the arab cevilization in spain who give u maths and numbers, that's not our problem, AMAZING MOVIE it's the most important

  • great video, very inspiering, glory to odin and the gods of war, strength and honor ! - one of the best movies ever-

    Love it!!! XD

  • you legend. my fave ensiferum song with my fave film ever! lovely jubbly!

  • I love this film! Anyway I think Antonio Banderas is not suitable as an arab, they should have used a real arab actor

  • i think he is don't forget he's spanish from the south (malaga) so historiquely it's verry correct ! this part was owend bye the moors !

  • well sure u don't know how arabs look like, spanish people and portogish people look like arabe, even in spanish language there's about 8000 arabic word, and the numbers that u use now are arabic numbers;

well amazing movie and specialy the relation between peoples at that time

good works i had it, in my favorite

  • Asenheil!

    Sehr geil!

  • Can anybody tell me what place in the north is the story told ?

  • It is based on on an account by Ahmad ibn Fadlan... Ahmad was supposed to travel to the Volga Bulgars... However, he was captured by vikings from Rus... So most of his account is of the Rus... Unfortunately I can't give a more detailed answer...

  • Vikings from Russia?

    They were speaking scandinavian :P

Russia were colonized by vikings anyway..

  • @ EriBle...

I meant that they were "vikings" operating out of Rus... Not sure what their origin was... the Russyia by Fadlan doesn't really mention it... Have you read it...?

  • It was swedish vikings in Russia that time.

    Simple history..

  • Love this song...!!!!

    It's awesome...

Also 13th Warrior one of my favorite movies....!!!

  • this film is real, a real arabic story,

that events was happened before 1000 years,
