Hail the GODZZZZ... Nocturnus mastery shames modern-day streamlined death metal (be it brutal, melodeath, tech-death djent or whatever). This dudes knew how to poor some licks, some Alien licks, and then they put some cream with Panzers highly 40s/50s/60s sci-fi inspired keyboard-wizardry that shames all dream-theatheresque and blackmetalish simplistic keys. Plus you dont get original music by using the same themes. Even when Satanic, they were original. hailll thee lord of matter NOCTURNUS!!!

Nocturnus's "The Key" is has to be the best music release in the entire history of mankind, and it's only rival is Morbid Angel's "Altars of Madness."

Mike Davis has to be one of the best guitarists of all time since he has tons of technical skill but creates tons of excellent thrashy riffs to complement his leadwork as opposed to modern tech-death that just continuously wanks without making any good riffs.

HOLY FUCK, this is top class Death metal here! I can't believe Nocturnus isn't recognized that well for being such an influencial band. Science-fiction themed lyrics and keyboards virtually didn't exsist in extreme metal back then.

Oh, and just look at the speed of those fingers. Top class axeman indeed. The only problem with this video is the camera work. The cameraman obviously had a few problems with the zoom. Anyway, wicked song, album and band. Hail Nocturnus \m/

Nocturnus can be absolutely considered one of the most underrated Death metal bands. Original lyrics, skillful guitarist with a high level of dexterity. And no other band uses keyboards as much and with as big variety as they do AND make it sound this good nad listenable.

The only reason ,why "The Key" won't be part of my christmass list this year, is the fact that I already have it. Breath-taking album

Fuck it's unusual with no bass or guitar player handling vocals in front. No complaint but another point on how the band is unique. I wish today's metal was played like this, no bullshit Nu-metal or Metalcore nonsense. Only some older bands still excist from this time era like Morbid Angel, Decide, Obituary, Grave, Sinister and Unleashed etc. Other great bands like Death, Autopsy, Pestilence, Asphyx, Morgoth, Possessed and Dissection etc are part of metal history now and should'nt be forgotten.
