  • Cheers for this. Got to say you have the oddest accent I've ever heard, like a combination of Dubliner and Middle Class English. :)

  • hellou! good tut!!!

after the complishment, comes the question :P haha

do u know how to fix the "latency" problem? i connect my keyboard to midi via usb... and use an earlier version of sonar... but... when i play the piano... it sounds a lot of seconds after i´m playing the actual note...

    thanks in advance! :)

  • OK....WHAT KIND OF INSULTS DO I HAVE TO WRITE TO GET A RESPONSE FROM YOU...MOOMAN...lol

  • @squidskunk Just the usual degrading remarks and twanged porno response things you normally infest my domain with. Other than that, have you tried jerking off a hamster by the gonads? LOL, good to hear from you. I ain't dead, just playing the piano a lot. Bored with life as well...

  • Thanks for making me fall asleep.

  • Great instructional. Kept it simple and easy to understand!

  • seriously, overkill on the intro

  • @Hippiegeeks That is a matter of opinion. Go play with a rabid squirrel....

  • This is a great tutorial, looking forward to other videos in this series! :D

  • Excellent tutorial, I like the piano setting you are using. Sonar 8 pro user here too.

  • I don't get how I put a VSTi inside an already existing MIDI-track. I import songs I've made in guitar pro and simply give the MIDI-information a virtual instrument... but I don't get it how to do it in Sonar! HELP!

  • I'm using edirol orchestral. 16 midi chanels on the GUI. I record on chanel one. (NO problem) I go to chanel two of the vst. Press record but I always manage to get playback while recording from chanel one. I want to hear playback but not the notes I'm recording on chanel two. I want to build on all 16 midi chanels but independant from one another without having to open a new vst for each track. How can I accomplish this?

    Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

  • nice piano sound! what VSTi are you using? does this come with the Sonar package? thanks

  • i have just got prosonus studio one & sonar 8 producer edition, my Q is i cant seem to set up my audio input output properly, can anybody out there help ?

  • Hehe nice Editing. Especially i like the "Moonlight Sonata", is a awesome song ;-D

    Greetings from Germany

  • Made me have to watch Immortal Beloved...

  • Great tut madcow :P +fav

  • thank you mad cow, you have answered many questions for me, 5/5

  • i can't hear anything!!! i mean i can hear audio but not the vst instruments! help???

  • on your Sonar? hav you tried using one or more of the soft synths?

  • How does one copy and paste complete measures? I would like to copy 2 measures of 4 tracks and repeat them twice.

  • download the software as a trial, you learn right away.

  • In the Piano Roll view make sure you have the PRV Select Tool active (top left hand corner marked 1).

Click and drag a selection box around your 2 measures and let go of the mouse. Go to the edit menu and select Copy. Hit ok on the small window that pops up. Move your current time indicator (with the green flag at the top of the piano roll) to the exact place where you want to add the 2 measures. Go to the edit menu and hit Paste. Hit ok on the small window that pops up. Voila

  • I use the piano roll-out for that (ALT+5 on the default KB map) and just use the select tool (S) then just CTRL+Drag the notes on each measure i want copied. I repeat the process for each track.

Just my .02 on my own process :P

  • 2.Can you set ATTACK, DELAY and RELEASE points for instruments?

    THANKS.

  • 1.I have Sonar 8 demo and everytime i choose instruments in midi track and i go to piano roll view and i play it it has the same(default) instrument sound and not the one i choose, but when i go to the step sequencer and i draw a note there and play it it has the instrument i choose and then i erase the note and then i go to the piano roll view and then is the instrument that i choose so i got to do this everytime i choose new instrument, so i wold like to know if the original version works fine

  • because you're using the demo version so lot of limitation.

  • Great tutorial thanks. If you won't mind i would like to ask you something.

  • do you use windows vista?

  • Yoss

  • wow...you use the same software i use...sonar-vegas-camtasia...on and on...
