The Intelli might be great for a uke, but I play bass, and the Intelli had a real hard time picking up string vibrations, especially the E string. The Snark, however, picks up bass string vibrations (as well as any other string instrument) without any problems whatsoever. I gave my Intelli to my son so he can tune his acoustic. Myself, I'll stick with the Snark!
The Intelli IMT-500 is TOTALLY AWESOME. The rubber pads left a black circular stain on the headstock of my '57 Strat reissue headstock after leaving it on there for a week. So. I'm keeping the cool tuner and burning the crappy reissue guitar in the fireplace because it's a piece of crap. The lousy finish sure smelt good as it burned in the fireplace. Thanks for the great review !
Blue (SN-1) is guitar specific. Red (SN-2) adds extended frequency range to handle more instruments and a mic in addition to the vibration sensor. There is also the SN-5, which is basically an SN-1 in black.
The Intelli IMT-500 is FUCKING GARBAGE. The rubber pads left a black circular stain on the headstock of my '57 Strat reissue headstock after leaving it on there for a week. Absolute bullshit, and Intelli doesn't have a website to make a complaint to the manufacturer. It rattles when playing, and doesn't tune E-A-D played open, only when playing harmonics.
Not a bad comparison, however, he does NOT mention that the intelli does not do well on lower notes without the use of 12th fret harmonics. I tune down to C, and even D is pretty well useless with the intelli. I have both and I prefer the Snark by a HUGE margin. Although the Snark is not quite as bright as the intelli, outdoors, clip it UNDER the headstock, something I used to do with my older tuners that did not have bright displays. I just gave my intelli away. YMMV
LOL..So why on earth would you need it?

@yoheff988 No, the metronome makes no sound, you only see the heart beat.

I also have the Intelli tuner. It doesn't pick up vibrations from the lower strings that well.

I as well have had the same Intelli tuner for several years. The battery is almost dead now, but I'm going to buy the snark instead of replacing it.

That's funny. I have been using it to tune a double bass for a long time with no problems.

Why would you need to tune in the sun :s
baterarebelde 1 year ago
@baterarebelde Some people might want to play outside, whether it be for fun or for gigs.
DuskY1991 1 year ago
The Snark is nice. I play never have gigs outside so the sun ins't much of an issue. Thanks for the great review.
Cheers
