Where is the pride in an imported generator???????? How many Americans were put out of work by importing this THING???? What's wrong with everybody...taking PRIDE in Americans losing their jobs....taking PRIDE in America losing their status in the world ! ! !
@JetMechMA I don't disagre that we need to make our own toys and stop importing, however, look at all the jobs that were created in order to move this monster. I'm tired of imports as well but try looking on the brighter side.
@awiechelt FUCK the brighter side....God damn it...America is half dead now because of outsourcing. FUCK IMPORTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You people have no BALLS ! ! ! ! !1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@tinygerm1 I stand corrected if I,m wrong. Ive driven 18 wheelers but never haul oversize loads. But considering that I was a mechanic I was to say this: I notice your comment about-- " you would have to take every thing off the trailer to air it up a jack wouldnt do it so it be like a day to air up/fix 1 tire"-- I dont thing thats necessary. Knowing that trailer has a suspension system. Its is possible to change one tire as long as you have the right jack. U just need to lift one axle.
@ShuRugal1 yes but it would take more work and you would spend more money because you would then have to ship all the parts there then tools and the specialists needed to build it so all in all this is the easiest and cheapest way
lol. How in the heck would you call for a flat. "Thank you for calling Roadside assistance My name is Peggy. Are you in a safe location?" "Kinda" " Ok sir what can I do for you today" "I have a flat" "Oh I'm sorry to hear that" "Can you tell me the Year make and model of your vehicle" "its actually on my trailer" "Oh ok sir" " What kind of trailer is it" "Umm A special one" "can you describe it to me" " well total we have I'd say around 200 tires and one just popped"
Once again we buy foreign shit that we can't build anymore like the old days when everything was built to last. Sad to see we can't build much anything anymore.
@junekentucky Uhh, a ton is only 2000 lbs if you are in the US. Anywhere else in the world, its 2240 lbs. Perhaps you forgot that Britain set the standard for measurements worldwide. Americans are such troublemakers.
@junekentucky Besides, your comment was that a ton is a specified number of lbs., which is not entirely true. Disagreeing with someone like that just shows your arrogant ignorance.
@tjhombs HA, you're the one calling names, first post called me (us) troublemakers, now you're calling me ignorant and arrogant when I'm just stating facts.
Fact:This took place in US where a ton is 2000 pounds
Fact:Someone (probably in another country) mistakenly posted incorrect information which I tried to correct (without calling names, you'll notice)
Please stop getting upset and calling names on the internet, it's a waste of time... and so is responding to people who call names.
@junekentucky Transportation provided by Mammoet. US Corporate Office website: "All Weight and Capacity are in metric tonnes." So how many pounds was that again?
@tjhombs HAHHA, stating facts not entered as evidence ^_^
Oh wait, that was a company name on the side of that truck? You really want to win, don't you. I missed it completely, reading the description which said pounds.
@tjhombs *Sigh*, metric as in grams, kilograms and such stuff, not pounds. The description is in pounds, not kilograms and the video took place in the US where pounds are used so using the 2000 pound ton is indicated. Not the metric ton.
Imperial units and the US customary units derive from earlier English units. The majority of the British Commonwealth and the former British Empire used Imperial, but later most of the commonwealth countries adopted the metric system.
I'm pretty sure that some parts of the US use the metric system too.
better video of it is the ' 1.9 million lb generator moved by Mammoet" in the daylight, pretty awesome, seems even the though the weight is distributed over such a wide area , seems at that weight it would still juts cruch that road into bits... awesome video
they use cranes in their factory to life and assemble each individual parts directly onto the two platforms with wheels and the yellow bridge look-alike thingy~ then they pull-push the whole thing on the wheels~
Then you get some rookie state D.O.T officer screamin' that it MUST cross his scale, he doesn't care what the permit says....."driver, back up to the 14th axle, I didn't get that one" ha ha ha.... That's awsome stuff !!!! Great Video.
@dodgecummisn2500 Sadly because it's in America, someone would still hit it. Flashing lights dont mean thing, when you have a cellphone. Cant tell you how close i come to being hit ever day when i have my flashers on, even at nite.
It's not really that big, the actual generator is only a small fraction, size-wise, of the whole framework used. It's just very heavy, hence the need for a long framework (the orange metal thing) so its load can be spread across as many wheels as possible (otherwise it would just crush the road underneath it) via 2 'turn-table' platforms which make it easier to negotiate turns.

@hhds113 FYI . . . they actually had to take the wheels off at night so they wouldn't get a flat due to the weight.
