  • This song is amazing, and the almost spoken part has a splendorous mystic i can't describe... just magic

  • DT > POS...

  • @PeaceMak3r91 Smoking crack is bad for you

  • @AyreonsDimension

Says the guy who like Slipknot lol....

  • @PeaceMak3r91 Yeah, and the guy who likes Slipknot knows PoS is much better than Dream Theater in lots of aspects

  • anyone knows where i can get the tabs for this song..

    please please please plegeeeeee..:)

  • @penam7300 Try tabbing it out yourself. Pick up yer guitar, make sure you have this song on your pc. There are good programs that can help, like the Amazing Slow Downer - it slows the music down without changing the pitch! Now, first of all find the root note. Is it in E, in A, in what key? Let's say it's in E. Now play the song and at the same time E major. If it doesn't fit, play E major or some other scale. Then try playing chords that that scale makes. Then concentrate on seperate notes!

  • to be honest I don't know what I'm looking for - who to be

  • This is one of my favorite PoS albums...so much emotion

  • I'd say that Remedy Lane most definitely has an autobiographical background. The words in Ending Theme sound really personal. You can feel the tension!!

  • I think PoS is better then DT, not because of technical skill but because their songwriting is better (no solo mania to drag down their songs, sorry Petrucci is amazing but his solos are often just solos for the sake of solo) and because Daniel kicks LaBries ass. No disrespect to LaBrie, he is really good, but Daniel is out of this world. Of course the two bands are very different, but I like PoS more for the reasons stated above. They give me more on an emotional level. Far more.

  • whos better who cares everyone likes what they like

  • saw them yesterday, this song is awesome live!

  • Why do people need to keep comparing bands??? Can't we like them all w/o being so "this one is better than that one!!" ???

  • @Yzyz00r It is a good question, but for me I'd say I just like to do it because I find it interesting to talk about something else then how awesome they are all the time. It has nothing to do with not liking either one. It has something to do with wanting to say more about them then just that I like them both cause I do, but PoS are better in my oppinion. I see no harm in saying that or comparing the bands :)

  • @Altairograph Well if you say so... Come to think of it, it is really boring to be like "Oh they're both awesome bands!" too... This gets me confused, but, just for the sake of it: I think DT is better, not for technichal skill either, but because as PoS is more like deeep into the heart, I find DT more deep into the mind... Not that PoS is not into the mind and all, but for me, DT's songs bring me to a whole new level of conciousness, like opening the gates of infinity on my mind.

  • @Yzyz00r I agree with that, DT is more "out of this world" (not that their songs don't relate to real life at all, songs like "Hollow Years" definetely do) while PoS is more deep into the emotions of life. Matter of taste which approach you like more I guess.

See? Comparisons can lead to interesting conversations :)

  • @ jestervision595 pos is good. not as good as DT. never will be.

  • PoS has been hit or miss for me, but Remedy Lane is amazing and this song is brilliant IMO

  • bad quality on the audio.

  • cheers from budapest pos rulez

  • IMMENSI

  • Comment removed

  • Youtube compression is killing me in this video.

  • @Radwalls How come? Is it the cymbals, they sound quite indistinct/fuzzy...

  • amazing :)

  • pain are better than DT!

DT haven't got the feeling POS have....just the got good techniques that aren't comparable with the passion a musician should have!!! POS rule.

  • PoS makes music in the way music should be ;) Beautifull. I guess music in the way it was intended to be.

  • amen!

  • DT had it... once... in A Change of Seasons. But that was about it, aside from a few times in Scenes From a Memory.

Aside from those instances, PoS... I can't think of a way to accurately sum up how much better they are than DT, and nearly every other band out there. Daniel's lyrics alone have changed the way Í see the world..

  • Images and Words would be their greatest album.

Anyway, PoS have been better for the last 10 or so years, 8 at least.

  • Agreed.

  • What? This is a lie. Images and Words is an album by Dream Theater. So, why have you said this thing?

  • hes talking about dream theater and how images and words was their best album but how pos have been better than dream theater ever since the images and words/awake period

  • Thanks for clearing up the confusion, right on.

Nice to see you're a Devin fan too, among other great bands.

  • Oh ok, that's right.. I understand now, thanks ^^

  • We all forget that we must be talking about the two of these bands at the same time because they are now touring together!

finally I get to see pain in Toronto. First time i think they probably have ever been here... finally!

I fucking hate the theatre thought. Juuuuust because of HIS female vocals. sorry. i know. sorry. I do give credit to where there's talent though. and theatre's obviously musically inclined to a high degree.

you can all jump on boycotting this msg now :P | :(

  • i dont understand why people allways have to put artists and music against each other, its not a contest

  • Yeah they're both excellent bands.

  • So true my friend, there are thousands of instrumentists but very few true songsmiths and POS is one of the few.

  • @FrancescoFerosa i can't believe this comment...POS and DT aren't related at all...it be like comparing Aerosmith and Justin Beiber, you just can't compare them....but your comment is true in the sense that DT's last albums have been quite emotionless, but their earlier stuff is fine

  • @soocool78 Everything can be compared ^_^. Actually, two things being different is a necessary condition for them to be comparable.

  • @FrancescoFerosa Come paragonare i Green Day ai Pink Floyd dicendo che i Green Day ci mettono passione mentre i Pink Floyd soltanto tecnica.Io amo i Pain of Salvation però oggettivamente parlando non sono paragonabili ai Dream Theater,e non si parla soltanto di tecnica,ma di versatilità e ricercatezza.

  • @FrancescoFerosa a tipical comment from a 12yr old...

  • One of the best rock songs ever

  • This song is kinda fun since I'm hungarian.

  • Hey, there is no RAP in this music... it's just a interesting tale within the music.

  • Actually - I would definitely call it "rap" - even though it's much better than any rap I've listened to ever.

  • ENDING THEMEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • Probally the best song they've made. Perfection.

  • i don't know if there is a more perfect band around these days.

progressive nation 2009 is going to be incredible.

    :D

  • I agree.. Like Dream Theater... Future Music!

  • I wouldn't compare them with DT. Dream theater are very technical band, these guys are not even half. But this band sound cool in their own way.

  • @harmony0404 Actually PoS is a very technical band u probably know just a few songs from them to say they are only half of DT... PoS is much better than DT, like a two billions better....

  • il love the rap part at 2:30, it's so good !!!

  • rap part??? um... ok......

  • Yes, rap part. Even Metal rap i think.

  • 0_o

  • Well... mmm =/ i guess not totally rap... but still, its like, w/e... WHAT EVER IT IS, ITS GOOD =]

  • It's progressive

  • SAME!! W000000!!!

What does candy and music have in commen, you have to through away the rapper... haha that is a funny joke, but sadly not totally true, as Danny G does rap, and in this case, its amazing.

  • it's more of a talking part. Sounds pretty good.

  • :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • budapest?

  • capital of hungary isnt it?

  • Why is it mentioned in the album?

  • im not sure im not good at reading into lyrics, maybe the narrator went to hungary

"The same old hotel room in Pest one night before the Sziget fest

Hungarian Princess will you share my rest?!" thats mentioned aswell, im not sure i havent a clue the album is about relationships and things so theres two clues

  • About 3/4 of the album was written in Budapest. In the booklet, Daniel mentions the time and place he wrote the songs.

  • @jestervision595 As far as I know Remedy lane has a strong autobiographical background. It seems the singer had a Hungarian lover once... (Btw. Hungarian girls are beautiful.)

  • @Thyressarexus I'd say that you're right. The lyrics to Ending Theme sound extremely personal. You feel the tension as the song progresses!! Excellent song!

  • @jestervision595 The entire album (Remedy Lane) is about his memories revisited while visiting Budapest. Don't ask why, it's Gildenlow, so there's nothing to say about it.

  • @jestervision595 Sziget feszt (literally Island festival) is a multinational music festival of Hungary, as far as I know Pain of Salvation is a regular guest. They may have had lovers in Hungary... Deák tér (Deak Ferenc Square) is an important point, where the three metro lines connect, so if you have to go somewhere on Budapest (or Pest, which is the eastern half of the City), you most likely go through it.

  • @Thyressarexus god insight dude, but can we all agree on one thing? hungarian girls are damn hot! lol

  • @Thyressarexus Let me share the real story. They came to Budapest to play on the late-festival Summer Rocks in 2001, and they played after a hungarian band called Stonehenge - and they became real big friends, and fell in love with the city because of THAT. They were invited to play at the Sziget festival as well, and Danien Gildenlöw also shared a stage with Stonehenge on Sziget. Obviously they came back multiple times afterwards, but that's how it started. I was actually there in 2001 :D

  • @jestervision595

Yes, capital of Hungary is Budapest. Budapest has two parts (Buda and Pest) divided by Duna.

  • the song is about when Daniel Gildenlow was in budapest for a festival called 'Sziget Fest'. its all explained in daniel's words on the wikipedia page.

  • @Cluzore Remedy Lane is a concept album about a man having some memories of a relationship. One of those is about him and her being in Budapest and probably breaking up. You should check the whole album (and the story), it's worth it.

  • was there not a music video for this?

  • This album is outstanding! Though I still think One hour by the concrete lake will always be their masterpiece. Cheers!

  • Progressive Nation 2009 baby

  • For me "Remedy Lane" is to Progressive Metal what "The Dark Side Of The Moon" from Pink Floyd was to progressive Rock Back in the seventies. An absolute MASTERPIECE. They hadn't the need to play a huge number of notes per minute, like so many "progressive" acts nowadays.

It's all about melodies placed in the right place at the right time, with beautiful taste.

FUCK this is the only metal album that has been able to move me to tears...AND I HATE IT FOR ITI!!!

  • <3 this song.

    So much.

    Remedy Lane is amazing.

  • i can't find words in any language to describe this music!

  • maybe perfect or masterpiece?XD

  • I know! This my favorite song by them. They definitly have their own sound. I wish this song was hours long instead of minutes.
