  • no offense to the coverer but i want to hear the actual version help me someone!

  • @TheJW84 no offense taken...... the original is a beautiful song.....although I don't think I,ve seen it on youtube...all the best...kev

  • @electricragtime You still did an excellent job, and it's cool now I got it from a friend:)

  • Hi, Kev! I like this! -karl

  • @karlake2 thanks karl.....its a song I really like.....but its a little rough around the edges.....I will eventually get around to rerecording it properly...kev

  • I really liked the way your voice and guitar sounds together. Easy 5 stars . Great picking as well.

  • @irvpav Thanks Irv...I appreciate that... my voice has been compared to many things but the most appropriate comparison was when someone told me it sounded like a cat pissing on a tin roof... I have striven for that level of excellence ever since...Take it easy my friend...Kev

  • Wonderful guitar playing man. Great song! Very cool.

  • sincerely,I've never heard this song before,and the more I listen to,the more I like it....and you have the "mood"to play it,...vey intense,..bellissimo!!ciao,valerio

  • @ValerioMansueti ...thanks valerio... its a little bit disjointed but I enjoyed playing it

  • Just checking out 'The Trees' video of Chapman on the 'choob' from 1975 and I love it.

  • yeah he certainly a force to be reckoned with.. I,ve done a couple more chapman covers myself...in fact my first venture was a chapman song not so much a garden...and as far as I,m aware the only version one the tube

  • p.s. why did you stop playing for so long man? Its really good with feeling.

  • thanks for the comments...I stopped playing seriously because of other commitments...I sold lots of guitars that would be considered vintage by now...I suppose I just lost interest but a friend of mine suggested i should give youtube a look and then goaded me into doing a couple of songs...this is the result although I am still trying to learn about recording on computers..but hey its coming...Take care..all the best Kev

  • Nice job my friend. Kinda melancholic but theres beauty afoot. Like the guitar pickin' and singing. Never heard it before.Keep em coming.

  • What a beautiful song I have never heard this before ..Really enjoying your Picking here also ...Good stuff

    Rocket

  • Best regards from Badenia! 5*

  • Thanks my friend...

  • I really like how you sing and play this fine song.

  • Thanks Chris... i enjoyed playing it...its not a note for note version but I like it.....Kev

  • Great cover.5 *****

    Bernard.

  • Thanks Bernard...I realise its not note for note but my covers rarely are...and having to play with fingerpicks didn,t help...Kev

  • Very well performed...I really enjoyed this. :) Five stars.

And thanks for the sub...I'm returning the favor.

    Janet

  • Thanks Janet and thanks for the sub

  • Hey, this is really nice and totally unknown to me. Thanks for the intro. 5 stars and regards.

  • Chapman is definitely worth seeking out....

  • Just come across this, I only knew MC from the Rainmaker album, but I see he's done a lot more since. Very good, and the sound okay here.

    Mike

  • yeah rainmaker was the album I went out and bought when I heard this song....the not so much a garden more like a maze..that I uploaded was on the same album.....

  • Nice one Kev ~ I'm going to have to have a look at Mike Chapman's stuff ~ This sound's great ~ And i agree with Jeff, let's see the white's (or as You say, the bloodshot) of your eye's ~ So we can see, as well as hear you putting feeling into your song, Kev ~ Take care ~ Geoff

  • Mike chapman is definitely worth a look ... he is one of the best acoustic guitarists that I have ever heard..we used to see lots of him years ago ..he used to use the same boozer as we did in hull ..."The polar bear"... and I have played on the same bill as him ...years ago as well except then i was into electric blues guitar.. so never really took to much notice of what he played then..it was a few years later when my mate picked up my guitar and played this song...and that was it for me..

  • Thanks Marco...your comments are much appreciated

  • Great interpretation man...Very nice.Ciao

  • Thanks Franco.. I love Michael Chapman acoustic stuff (not so fond of the electric stuff though)....

  • What a delicate sound! Well done, my friend!! 5*****

  • Vynil.. You know 33 1/2..RPM

  • Put that camera further back, so I can see the whites of your eyes!!! HA! Cool tune, I'd like to have this one on vinyl

  • Thanks Jeff...Yes it was on vinyl that I originally bought it...but like a lot of my vinyl it vanished over the years..... and if I move the camera much further back I lose the sound (its only a stills camera in video mode) and my eyes are mostly bloodshot (whiskey drinking doesn,t do the eyes a lot of good (especially the volume I drink.) it hasn,t helped my voice much either over the years....
