@countrygirl22 You must be dining at the California Grill to use the catwalk , when I went it was fine but in season it can get crowded but as long as your at the bar or eating there should be plenty of space since onlookers only are not allowed .....
It's kinda light out. When I last went to Disney World, they didn't start the Wishes Celebration until it was dark. I can't recall the exact time they have it scheduled to start, but it was much darker than this.
They usually do them around 5 or 6pm on the night of a Very Merry Christmas Party so the people who arent staying for the party can experience fireworks.
They are actually shot about a 1/4 mile directly behind the castle. If they were shot off behind Toon Town, then you would have a crooked view of Wishes watching from Main Street.
how do you get on the roof? I stayed their last year and ate at the californian grill but didnt know you could get access to the roof! Or is it from a balcony?
Yes its shot live from the roof of the hotel , they have speakers all around and in the park. I shot this 12/11/07 , I was there for Mickey's Merry. This is the 6pm Wishes show.
Thank you very much for posting this...we had dinner at the California Grill on Saturday, 15-Dec-2007, as a celebration of a wonderful vacation at Walt Disney World. Unfortunately, during our stay, I was never able to get good video of the "Wishes" fireworks (between dealing with impatient family and kids).
there were still sunlight left a little too early yall agree

i reall never thought that they were shot that close to the castle. Its just in Tomorrowland. WOW! Great video!
cdgunzz97 3 years ago
The angle this video was shot at looks like its tomorrowland. But they are shot off about 100 yards directly behind the castle.
tootallstud 3 years ago
Well, you're partially right. They're actually shot off a bit further back than that.

Close, they actually shoot them off a bit further back than that.

As a former fireworks coordinator, I know for fact that they are shot off 100 yards behind the castle.

You are not correct.

MM01508 is right. They're shot off about a quater of a mile behind the castle. A quick look on Google Earth proves that.

The roof... there are catwalks that are accessible to the public. Just go to the California Grill and hang a right at the bar.
jhillestad 3 years ago
There are also stairs on the end of the building.
