As a result the all the cardboard and tape stays dry when the rain comes. I'll never have to re-hang these signs again. Yes!!

After hanging up signs the way you described the rain came and destroyed them all so I improved them. I went to the dollar store and bought a bunch of transparent shower curtains and draped them in it. To hang the sign I hung it as you described with the figure 8 so there is an X of tape on the sign but I put a plastic flap over the tape so the rain couldnt hurt it. Then I made some small plastic rings to cover the rings of tape on the pole.

HEY, this isn't any worse than advertising "Yard Sale".  HOw long do your signs last? Personally, I like punching a hole (on site) and wire-tying signs up with plastic wire-ties... probably lasts longer, but I admit, your way is defintely faster.

I think this is a great idea; BUT in order not to denigrate Ron Paul's image, I think you also need to emphasize some responsibility for retrieving the signs from public places afterwards....when they get rained on or begin to degrade.

Not to worry. These signs will only last 5-6 hours at best.  I have been hanging free speech signs for a while now, and they get taken down rather quickly. Hopefully these will last longer than that, since it is a holiday and the good-for-nothings out there will mostly be drunk or otherwise engaged.

I recommend strategic placement of signs e.g. "No IRS" sign with Ron Paul pic and name near banks and businesses. When people go to banks they are in some way more pervious to agenda such as "no tax" rather than when they are coming out of a night club.

GREAT IDEA!! Note: lots of paint stores and home improvement stores have what they call "oops" paint, or paint that was mixed to the wrong specifications/color. They often sell this pain VERY cheap, but they won't usually re-tint it. Since perfection isn't required for this, any very light colored paint (whether interior or exterior) will suffice for painting the background. Many of these stores will also have large cardboard.

The reason I put the pictures of Ron Paul in the beginning was because of my introductory monologue. If I just started the video with my painting the sign the rest of the dialog would be behind the video clips. I did the best I could with the time I had. Thanks for watching/commenting.
