Only Trip, Archer and T'Pol get to do anything! It was big flaw in the show.

i.e. "Hi. I'm Hoshi. All I do is sit on the bridge with one line per episode." "HI. I'm Travis. I'm the captain's cheaufer." They're the token minorities on the bridge and that's it! Although Reed gets to do stuff, his character never evolves either. This episode where Hoshi sluts herself around really made me mad. It should never have been in her character. =-P

okay I agree. You think the minor characters on enterprise had it bad. What about TOS. Chekov only gets to say some russian catchphrase or screams in pain. Sulu says aye aye captain all the time. Uhura has less lines than hoshi, she just says hailing frequencies open. Scotty says we don't have enough power captain. I was talking about the times the characters get to have sex. Reed never got any. That's not fair for the armory officer.

I think they wanted a Kirk/Spock/McCoy thing on Enterprise but they forgot about how redundant it gets. BTW I wonder if the new Uhura in ST09 will be kick-ass or "true to cannon"  haha.

kirk/spock/mccoy never gets redundant. I just wished that they did 1 episode about sulu, scotty, uhura, chekov or nurse chapel. They did get better coverage in the movies. In ST 09 uhura will sleep with Kirk, that good enough for you.

um...it worries me. Captains aren't supposed to elope with members of their crew and even though this is Kirk we're talking about, I don't think he violated this rule on the show. He always scored w/ alien babes. I dunno. I'll have to try and not judge until I see the film.

I disagree. the characters each had a fair amount to them. The only exception was the helmsman. All he did was sit on the bridge and smile. The other characters all had lots going for them, including Reed. It was part of his character that he had social inhibitions.

You're right about Travis but Hoshi had only one, maybe two episodes focused on her and one was the Beauty and the Beast lame episode "Exile" from season 3 so I don't count that. Voyager, DS9 and TNG had good development for just about everyone on the cast and with DS9, Garak, Leeta and other characters not permanently on the cast had good episodes. ENT just shoved Travis and Hoshi to the back after the first season.
