AFAIK, the Latin Empire is the Crusader state that (for a rather short while) took over the Byzantine Empire. I'm not sure why it went to France, except that maybe a French Count also had lands in the Latin Empire...?
Just out of curiosity, you've been playing this in beta form for a while now. When you review this on Out of 8 (looking forward to reading it, btw), will it be right when the game comes out, or will you play with the official release version for a bit?
How does that work in the review process? The Beta isn't the finished product, though it gets closer to done with time, so most of your impressions would be from that, no?

@BagBody33 Wife issue: it's a missing person, because even if she died, she would show up under the "parents" section of the two daughter's character description.
No further episodes: I actually didn't save this game; I was playing another game starting from the same date with the same person. King Eric IV got smacked in the head during combat and died a couple of years later, leaving the throne to his first daughter. Then she got excommunicated and lost an excommunication war against France...
