My favorite thing is how the game makes you feel like your Artyom and you are going through his story. Don't get me wrong, The Stalker series is good, but feel to much like a game with all HUD elements: The radar, health, hunger and radiation bars, all the ammo types, but the killer is the engine. It looks to cartoony. Yes it uses DX 11, but otherwise it almost looks cell-shaded, like TF2. I think that Metro 2033 is like Crysis 1, it is one of those games that changes the meaning of a genre.
@yugiohkid7 If you are only with it for the graphical look then in my books you must go away. Who cares if it looks cartooney or not? If you really want a cartooney look then look at Borderlands. It's a comic looking game. Metro and Stalker remind me of the good old days when FFVII had just come out and was the top on the RPG franchise.
@megamanangel First off, graving-digging is for 8 year olds. Ponder this: Take Metro 2033 and C.o.P, S.o.C or Clear Sky, everything maxed out. Stock, Metro Kicks its ass hands down, and that what I'm saying. With the Stalker series, you install it, run it once and then install the Stalker Complete mod for your game. Then your Stalker game will fucking murder Metro 2033. Before you spew shit onto the internet, do some research so you don't look like a fucking retard.
@yugiohkid7 I was fucking talking about your comment and how you implied about the graphical looks of it. It was ment to look rugged you ass. Sure the mod enhances graphs and such but it is for far mroe than just htat. Who cares about graphs if the gameplay is good? Graphs is just a bonus. Back when there were Text RPG's about post apocalyptia people didn't give a damn about no graphs. Do some research cunt.
@megamanangel No shit, hence why I said you were "grave-digging",replying to an old post/comment. And the games are not meant to look rugged. At the time of publishing and release of S.o.C, the engine, X-ray, was still in essence a beta. The full potential of the engine wasn't fully utilized until the mods came around. Also, learn to spell kid.
@yugiohkid7 In this case you yourself cannot talk about grammar at all because you did grammar mistakes too. One example is you saying Graving-digging. Anyways not to be a grammar nazi the game was ment to look rugged because that's what the best graphs looked like with that engine at that time. You think post apocalyptia is supposed to look all prim and dandy like let's say a carnival? Mods are for fun if people don't find the game itself to be playable. I grave dig if I want.
@megamanangel If Stalker was top of the line, then why was Battlestations: Midway and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 released BEFORE S.o.C came out? What about Forza Motorsport 2 or BioShock?
@yugiohkid7 As I said. That engine at THAT TIME. I don't know if Ghost recon, Forza or Bioshock use the same engine. If they did then it would be because of the difference running them on different styles. I didn't say STALKER was top of the line. I said it was the top of the line from THAT ENGINE.

Im really happy that ive played this game. One of the best games ive played in my life. Russians can make much better games than Americans. And Soundtrack is Amazing. no one didnt make this kind of game. LOVE THIS GAME AND THE STORY. and its not just some other horror game from Capcom. all of the plases its real and the Ostankino Tower it is realy exist. and one more crazy staf)))) D6 its not a joke
@doogle5747 here we go. There all games. Who cares what country made what game? I enjoyed metro 2033, not because it was russian but because it was good.
Dmitry Gluhovsky, author of the book the game is based on, has already published the sequel, Metro 2034 and the video game is already in development. Cheers everyone !
@Zauten It's been revealed that they're working on it. Apparently the game was super cheap to make (Didn't seem like it though) so they actually made a good amount of cash on 2033 even though it only sold about average.
ah yea the book is better than the game... the game is a little big too action-packed. but awesome too... but why the hell i got a "-1" under my comment? i dont understand the people. "the book is awesome" ... their answer: "NO !!! THE BOOK ISNT AWESOME!!! " -.- -.- -.- fail
@samasoku some people just don't like to read it....but fucking playing it!!!! and i agree with those who would rather play the game than read the friggin' book..... boooring.......... u FAIL!!!
@abominal401 how old are you? i didnt say anything against the game, dumbass. and btw books arent boring, either youre only too childish for them, or you cant read. the lesson is clear: kiddy!
@samasoku i didn't say that reading is stupid......just that i would rather play the game than read the book! and btw you little fuck...... i'm 19 years old!
@abominal401 haha yea 19 years old but maybe you have never read a book or whatever. books arent boring, maybe there is more action in PLAYING the game, dude, i didnt say it is not! i just said i dont understand people who r saying the book is better than the game. if you would read it you would agree. maybe reading books is not exciting for you, for others it is. didja understand?!
@PanzerRatten Hmm... Georgiy Beloglazov made that track (and almost all music in the game). Guitar - Andrey Minaev. Overtone singing - Dmitriy Globa. You really don't know what the fuck you're posting in comments.
@GordonFreeMANness When the game came out it wasn't very clear who composed the soundtrack. Most places I checked came up with Omelchuk, which made sense to me since he is indeed a very good composer. I apologize for my mistake though, thank you for clearing that up. : )
To each his own. I think you should chill out, my friend. Trying to pick fights on the internet, much less youtube comments, doesn't really solve much. So, did you play the game? Did you think it was good? 'Cause I really enjoyed it.
@Karaksonen yeah, the sneaking system needed tweeking, but if you just REALLY watched your step and used the throwing knives (as well as buying the sneaking quit), you could do it without too much trouble
Reminds me of the 28 days later theme, it has that desolate tone about it... That all is lost, hope is dying and the world... the world has gone...
