Adam has to be in Adam's body that is the lore of SPN& that the meatsuit owner has to give permission. If it was where Adam reunited in heaven with mom then why was Castiel's host still in him? @kazemon we found out a few weeks ago that Sam was returned w/o his soul & his soul is being held captive by Crowley so that's why there is no choice for Sam to start toruturing because he is stuck in the cage with Michael & Lucifer who wanted to fight each other & still might have but then turn on Sam

So being that I don't believe Adam was ever in the pit (not even in the body prior to the showdown events), we have poor little Sammy all alone with two very pissed off archangels whom are trapped in that hell hole of a cage all because Sam put them there. Is Sam's soul going to be a complete wreck? Yes indeed it is. We've had Jared confirm that Sam's time in Hell has been far worse than Dean's and no wonder really being in the absolute worst part of hell trapped with two angry angels. Poor Sam.

Sad, Sam soul is a mutalated thing now. I was hoping that at least Arc Angel Michael would protect Sam's soul....or even God? What the hell too happenned to Adam...you know Kripke's 3rd son?  I never liked that dumbass JTS idea from Kripke but Adam just can't be brushed or inked away by Ms Gambles.

@Iwiccaozzie Since Michael said that ''Adam wasn't home right now'' when Dean asked, I suppose it means Michael kicked his soul out of his body when he took over... It's the only thing I can think of, because yeah, making Adam magically disappear would be sort of a huge plot hole... It would also be kind of insulting for Sam... So he saves everybody and he goes straight to Hell but Adam just get to leave? Poor guy.

@Veelez It sounds more like the classic multiple personality thing - the way Meg was "locked inside" when her body was possessed by the demon. I would guess Adam is in there too - with Michael.

@A4T Yes, if we go by logic, it's more likely what happened. But what is troubling some people is that if Adam is in the pit, how come they never mention him or seem to worry about him? Just in that clip, they only talk about how Sam's soul risks to be damaged, how the angels vent their anger on him. No word for Adam. It's as if they forgot about him or just don't care. If he suddenly appears later, it will be awkward too: ''Oh, hey Adam, we just came here to save Sam, but you can come along!''

@Iwiccaozzie I honestly think that Adam is back in heaven where he belongs. He wanted to see his mom and that was what was promised to him if he said yes. As we saw with the episode Swap Meat it doesn't matter if the vessel's soul is in the body or not all that matters is getting that first yes. So Michael probably got Adam to say yes by promising to reunite him with his mom then took over and sent Adam back to Heaven. Michael may be a dick of an archangel but we have seen he is not a liar.

@Iwiccaozzie lol why would Michael protect Sam's soul? Sam dragged him down into the cage with Lucifer. No i've said this from the beggining of SoulQuest 2010 Sam's soul is going to be the most torn up piece of crap on the planet.

Also people saying that "hell is hell" meaning that Sam and Deans experiences were no different, even if that were true Dean only had 30-40 years. If time passes the same in the cage and hell that would be over 100 years of the DEVIL and Michael torturing Sam.

@Indy4192 it's also different because dean died and his soul went to hell. Sam went to hell alive with his body. His body somehow got seperated from his soul and lucifer and got sent back up to earth. Thats never happened before.

Lucifer invented the process of turning human souls into demons so Sam's soul could easily be a demon by now.

I think Luci and Mike hate each other too much and might be pre-occupied with fighting so they might ignore sam.
