I know that I don't go to a HBCU, but the probates at UMD are usually live. So, AKAs had yet to have a probate since I been here and I've been really excited to see it. I think their probates are so classy but full of energy. Not sure what I will pledge yet but I enjoy the probates. AKA, MD needs u :)
This brings me true pride as a soror. Just an idea I recently saw the Duke University sorors hear wear I live in North Carolina and it was a disgrace. This particular video of the howard ladies should be a must for all colleges. If you can't completely copy it at least try to have the aka look with the hair done and lady like attire and song requirments. Come on ladies we have new president and first lady it's time to come into class again.
Although AKA did not step this year for most homecomings and all national step shows, I would like to congratulate the Greeks who did. Good job Delta on your Homecoming and national step show wins, Zeta who won bayou and to Sghro who won the Atl stroll . Also, to sorors who won stroll shows & step shows- Thank U. Love for Alpha chapter who won sorority of the year! Most AKAs put our energy into building up our centennial year, but we love to give props to those who stepped. Good job.

If there was a time for an exception to the rule, this would have been a good time. Centennials only come around in like another 100 years. Maybe you should have skipped 07, because these girls seem weak, lazy, persuasive and deceitful. Too many of my girls just wanted to make history this year with your sorority, they had the grades/talent, two of them had 4.0 (s) and another is a queen, I hate to see them go out like this.
If they want it that bad, they can always pledge a grad chapter. Maybe they just wanted to pledge this particular chapter just to say they came from Alpha Chapter of AKA,to make "history," but since they didn't have a line this year, that's makes them weak and lazy. LOL, your so superficial. This chapter was sorority of the year for the 2008 Bison Ball, so they must have been doing something right to beat out everyone else.

See, you have already have preconceived notions about the AKAs, and if they're that horrible, why the hell would you or your friends keep trying to become a member?
How in the hell did you get that this chapter is lazy because they didn't have a line? They were hosts for the centennial events throughout the year and they DON'T DO BACK TO BACK LINES!! Obviously, community service and programs are more important to them than trying to bring in a line. They have a large membership in this chapter, so they're not hurting for more girls. PLEASE DON'T JOIN ANY SORORITY until you realize it's a lifetime commitment, and this is coming from a non-greek AT HOWARD.
At 2:24 there is a young lady with natural hair. In addition, no can see the entire line. It is a misconception that AKAs only have processed straight hair. I go to Howard and see AKAs with natural hair all the time. They also wear African attire and have chapters and sponsor schools in Africa.
Howard University's greeks ONLY probate in the spring. There is no fall, winter, summer, or whatever. Only spring, and it's always after spring break. Anyone that tells you otherwise did not pledge at HU. AKA had lines in 05 and 07, not in 08 or 06. They were hosting the centennial celebrations this year. DST had lines in 04, 06, and 07. Stop the crazy rumors and see for yourself at homecoming!!
Also, the Xi Chapter (HU Chapter) of KAPsi stepped for the first time at the 2007 homecoming show, and they've been of HU's campus for almost 10 years, but there was always another Kappa chapter stepping, so you'll still see all the orgs, and the show STILL WILL LAST 3-4 HRS, lol.
How about you wait AND SEE if Alpha Chapter steps in the show? I doubt you heard anything for real. Homecoming is a month away so how would you know info like that, unless you're in the org. And if they don't, there's ALWAYS a chapter repping. The Alpha Chapters of Omega Psi Phi or Z Phi B stepped, no one made a big hoorah about that. Every D9 is present at the step show regardless if it's a Howard Chapter or not.
I meant to say the Alpha Chapters of O Psi Phi and Z Phi B did not step last homecoming, and the Sigmas that stepped in the 2006 homecoming (and won for the frats) were not from Alpha Chapter.
so it is true, I did hear this, so they did vote as a chapter not to step and not to probate because of this stupid reason. I really can't believe this. ohmiGod, never thought I'll see the day they something like this.

And b)you'd know there there hasnt been back to back lines in the chapter for years so a line in '08 was NOT expected. c)They HOSTED the 100yr celebration where 1400 AKAs attended in Jan and a convention this june where 25,000 attended and won soroity of the yr! d) NO late probates at HU. I'm just wondering are these freshmen on campus or what, 'cause Greek life isn't publicized like that on campus, lol. The only orgs that had lines in Spring 08 were the Omegas, Phi Beta Sigma, and Zeta Phi Beta (that I know of). So the Alphas, Kappa, AKAs, nor Deltas had lines, and I'm not sure about SGrho or Iota Phi Theta. So why just rag on the AKAs? I'm not greek, but I have associates in the various orgs and I'm a student leader on campus, and this info being spewed is false. lol

The AKAs turned DC out with love and activism. They are an example of intelligence, courage, sophistication, confidence, wisdom, beauty and strength. They showed DC how educated Black people can succeed. I live in DC and was so proud to be able to witness a little of this historic occasion for all people of African descent. That March was awesome. Thanks AKA for 100 years of service, sisterhood, and scholarship. Thanks for the BLACK LOVE!!!! We need 5000000000... years more.
I've seen lines of 10 that weren't that tight, org notwithstanding. I guess I'm one of few who can fathom how, at an HBCU with thousands of qualified applicants, there can be a line of 92. They did their thing, kudos to them.

Delta pearls if you don't understand then why on earth are you on another sororities video making the claims about your sorority. It seems a bit desperate. I'm not a part of any NPHC sorority. However it just seems funny when one can have everything speak for itself, and a member of another has to do alot of explaining. And to your other message. Obviously, if your founders were trying to change everything about AKA, then they were doing the original founders disservice and being disloyal.
That is true at lot of deltas always post negative comments on the AKA videos, I can respect Sigma gamma rho, and zeta phi beta, there is never negativity among them. I love supporting all of my sister greeks, but sometimes you Delta's are so negative. SKEEEWEEE my sorors....

Although AKA did not step this year for most homecomings and all national step shows, I would like to congratulate the Greeks who did. Good job Delta on your Homecoming and national step show wins, Zeta who won bayou and to Sghro who won the Atl stroll . Also, to sorors who won stroll shows & step shows- Thank U. Love for Alpha chapter who won sorority of the year! Most AKAs put our energy into building up our centennial year, but we love to give props to those who stepped. Good job.

If there was a time for an exception to the rule, this would have been a good time. Centennials only come around in like another 100 years. Maybe you should have skipped 07, because these girls seem weak, lazy, persuasive and deceitful. Too many of my girls just wanted to make history this year with your sorority, they had the grades/talent, two of them had 4.0 (s) and another is a queen, I hate to see them go out like this.

If they want it that bad, they can always pledge a grad chapter. Maybe they just wanted to pledge this particular chapter just to say they came from Alpha Chapter of AKA,to make "history," but since they didn't have a line this year, that's makes them weak and lazy. LOL, your so superficial. This chapter was sorority of the year for the 2008 Bison Ball, so they must have been doing something right to beat out everyone else.

How in the hell did you get that this chapter is lazy because they didn't have a line? They were hosts for the centennial events throughout the year and they DON'T DO BACK TO BACK LINES!! Obviously, community service and programs are more important to them than trying to bring in a line. They have a large membership in this chapter, so they're not hurting for more girls. PLEASE DON'T JOIN ANY SORORITY until you realize it's a lifetime commitment, and this is coming from a non-greek AT HOWARD.

At 2:24 there is a young lady with natural hair. In addition, no can see the entire line. It is a misconception that AKAs only have processed straight hair. I go to Howard and see AKAs with natural hair all the time. They also wear African attire and have chapters and sponsor schools in Africa.

Howard University's greeks ONLY probate in the spring. There is no fall, winter, summer, or whatever. Only spring, and it's always after spring break. Anyone that tells you otherwise did not pledge at HU. AKA had lines in 05 and 07, not in 08 or 06. They were hosting the centennial celebrations this year. DST had lines in 04, 06, and 07. Stop the crazy rumors and see for yourself at homecoming!!

Also, the Xi Chapter (HU Chapter) of KAPsi stepped for the first time at the 2007 homecoming show, and they've been of HU's campus for almost 10 years, but there was always another Kappa chapter stepping, so you'll still see all the orgs, and the show STILL WILL LAST 3-4 HRS, lol.

How about you wait AND SEE if Alpha Chapter steps in the show? I doubt you heard anything for real. Homecoming is a month away so how would you know info like that, unless you're in the org. And if they don't, there's ALWAYS a chapter repping. The Alpha Chapters of Omega Psi Phi or Z Phi B stepped, no one made a big hoorah about that. Every D9 is present at the step show regardless if it's a Howard Chapter or not.

I meant to say the Alpha Chapters of O Psi Phi and Z Phi B did not step last homecoming, and the Sigmas that stepped in the 2006 homecoming (and won for the frats) were not from Alpha Chapter.

I did hear they are not stepping during 2008 homecoming, another win for deltas, zetas or anybody else. I'm not coming to homecoming this year, but do not look for nothing from them,
seems to be hard for these girls to get a stroll together - they not like the AKAs from 2006 (2006 killed).

Reallymoore and fisN27 who are you ? If you knew anything youd know a)There was no line in '06 so what AKAs from 2006 are you referring to? And b)you'd know there there hasnt been back to back lines in the chapter for years so a line in '08 was NOT expected. c)They HOSTED the 100yr celebration where 1400 AKAs attended in Jan and a convention this june where 25,000 attended and won soroity of the yr! d) NO late probates at HU. I'm just wondering are these freshmen on campus or what, 'cause Greek life isn't publicized like that on campus, lol. The only orgs that had lines in Spring 08 were the Omegas, Phi Beta Sigma, and Zeta Phi Beta (that I know of). So the Alphas, Kappa, AKAs, nor Deltas had lines, and I'm not sure about SGrho or Iota Phi Theta. So why just rag on the AKAs? I'm not greek, but I have associates in the various orgs and I'm a student leader on campus, and this info being spewed is false. lol

The AKAs turned DC out with love and activism. They are an example of intelligence, courage, sophistication, confidence, wisdom, beauty and strength. They showed DC how educated Black people can succeed. I live in DC and was so proud to be able to witness a little of this historic occasion for all people of African descent. That March was awesome. Thanks AKA for 100 years of service, sisterhood, and scholarship. Thanks for the BLACK LOVE!!!! We need 5000000000... years more.

Awesome probate Soror's! Soror's, this going back and forth with dst is pointless. It has always been "Service To All Mankind & Sisterhood" since day one. We don't have to defend that to anyone; no need to boast and flex our chests about our accomplishments. Remember "hearts that are loyal & hearts that are true." A few didn't get that but Soror Nellie Quander did and we're here 100 years strong. We were founded in 1908, incorporated in 1913 and have endured for 100 years!

Delta pearls if you don't understand then why on earth are you on another sororities video making the claims about your sorority. It seems a bit desperate. I'm not a part of any NPHC sorority. However it just seems funny when one can have everything speak for itself, and a member of another has to do alot of explaining. And to your other message. Obviously, if your founders were trying to change everything about AKA, then they were doing the original founders disservice and being disloyal.
