Uhm, Fun fact! The battery it uses is the one out of the GBA:SP, and the one from and original Nintendo DS works as well.

@JEYZiLLA Hey man. No, the link port is not functional as a link port. However, there is a new model for 2011 due to be released soon that will support link, 100% ROM compatibility and Micro SD support. I'll have one in a few weeks so keep your eyes peeled for a review.

The GBA was so well designed the lack of a backlight screen was a stupid idea, considering the Sega game gear and the Atari lynx both had back-lit screens, and they are 7 years older than the GBA, as soon as the SP was released 2 years later i went and got mine right away, and even then the backlight on it is just a load of turd :(

@ScDnBMusic Ah, yes...The GBA Sp's backlight. I thought it was pretty good, up until I got my mitts on a AGS-101 GBA SP model.

In case you didn't know, Nintendo made a second GBA SP near the end of it's life. That one has a MUCH better back-lit screen! It only came in 3 colors here in the US: Pearl Blue, Pearl Pink, and Graphite (Black).

Try to get THAT GBA Sp! It's A LOT better!

@ScDnBMusic I have a PSP (3000) as well, and I love it (Use quite a bit for Sonic the Hedgehog hacks and portable PS1 games), but I disagree about the perfect GBA emulation. I have a GBASP Kai emulator that can only emulate most games at full speed if it's overclocked to the max, which drains the already short battery power. But I do hear there's a NEW GBA emulator for it. Is that the one you're using? Everything else is a-ok, though. Masterboy works great!

@Daluigi207 PSP 1000 Models emulate perfect, only clocked too 222 as the Gpsp was made for the 1000 originally, every game i run on runs perfect for me(60 FPS, 100%)

I own a "solid blue" color version of this. The buttons are slightly stiffer than a real GBA. I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as some reviews make out.

Level of compatibility is very good; about 95% of games run identical to a real GBA.

My only complaint is that the rechargable battery only lasts about 2 hours before needing a recharge.

@Grim528 No, sorry. This clone sadly doesn't support the tilting feature that the game uses.

....HOWEVER, in theory, one could download the rom and a patch I've heard about that allows you to use the D-Pad instead, apply the patch to the rom, and PREHAPS play it....

Oh yeah, out of curiosity, does this thing play the Donkey Kong Country (GBA) Saga? I'd love to play the GBA version of DKC3 on this thing. And does it work okay with the Sonic Advance series as well? I'm curious because those are some of my favorite GBA games.

It's like a Dingoo A320, but designed to look like a GBA! Epic! Epically for GBA fanboys like me (I have a pretty big GBA library. Not the biggest, but not the smallest.).

50/40 dollars brand new!?! That's a pretty darn good deal! Might get as a GBA replacement (In case mine for whatever reason dies.), or if I want to play a couple dozen GBA games, but I can't carry all of them with me!

@iHavezMyBirdo well spotted :-) the screen is the same size (give or take 0.5mm) but its resolution is 320x240 compared to 240x160 on the original gba. the main menu is coded in 320x240 so it looks fine, games are stretched from 240x160 to fit 320x240 and look OK too, but the game boy logo is displayed at its original resolution so there is more space around it than there should be.

I wonder if it's possible to open this thing up and use the screen in a real GBA. I prefer to play real GBA games on the original GBA but of course the screen even with an Afterburner is not good enough, so I end up usually playing on my micro.

@DarakuTenshi the screen is a higher resolution than the original gba, so i doubt it'd be compatible. you may or may not be able to pull the backlight out and fit it inside your gba though.

@sedpluit the audio of the preloaded movie is fine. i doubt very much it can play mp3s - remember, this thing runs at about 16MHZ and has 32KB of ram (yes kilobytes). the only reason it can play that preloaded movie is because it is in the format that nintendo created when they released those movie carts. i have no idea how to encode your own movies to play on this thing. the file extension for the preloaded movie was .gba just like the roms. i didn't bother checking out it's technical specs.

it's got 498 games... it's fifty bucks... so, you can buy a normal GBA and maybe a game for that(it wont have a backlight), or you can buy this... so, yeah.
