  • i think this ending is very similar to vanishing point the 1997 version both very sad but this one wins

  • The best kiss ever

  • LA MUSICA ACOMPAÑA PERFECTAMENTE ESTE MOMENTO TAN EMOTIVO..

  • One of the most amazing kiss of movie's story: no sex, only love...

  • The ending always makes me think of Homer Simpson jumping Springfield Gorge...

  • The movie is about finding your freedom, this ending is a happy ending in a way they are free, they may be dead, but spiritually their still with us, the amazing camera shot of the car flying off, looks like the cars still driving in mid air, the ending was made like this as they wanted to see the car going up, not going down. The music is so perfect the choir is clearly saying "Wake me up", the bit that makes you cry is when they join hands and the noise of some choir makes a angel like noise.

  • One of my all time favorite films. No question about it.

  • THe best chick movie of all time!

  • I swear this is one of the best movies ever!

  • ths made me cry yo. one the real! butiful and shit

  • ' you shore? yeah! Off shore!

  • Did they cross successfully?

  • music is so powerful it makes it more emotional, everytime it on sky i always watch it my favourite film.

  • The end of this film does something weird to me....it makes me cry but I smile as well..it's like "Oh shit they drove off"...but also..."hey they're free now!"

  • did they die

  • @Cookie901Monster did you really just ask that lol

  • @mauwarrior hahahha yes cause i never watched it because i thought it was boring hahahahahahaha

  • @Cookie901Monster well yes they drove into the grand canyon lol

  • @mauwarrior iv heard many people write they made it alive and other shit hahahaha

  • @Cookie901Monster idk if thats possible but whatev lol

  • @mauwarrior thats wat i said if they liveds then uknow cause there is some other vids where it shows them landing and drivin off so idk but its watever

  • Funniest fuckin' movie ever!

  • Loved Susan sarandon in this movie

  • No documentário O Lado Secreto de Hollywood, a atriz do cabelo ruivo, que eu não me recordo o nome, falou que entre as duas, existia amor. Achei super fofo *-*

  • is this based on a true story ????

  • Like all great films, this climax leaves you moved for days after seeing it. It doesn't happen often, so treasure it when it does. Brilliant film making.

  • @21shergar Because I have recently fallen in love with this movie, I am unable to really be pleased by any other movie I see. Your comment seems to imply that you know of other films that are capable of having such an impact on ones life. Would you mind naming a few of them, please? Thankyou very much.

  • The Shawshank Redemption may have the same effect; The Green Mile, too. But this one's a real mover.

  • The key to a good movie is how it makes you feel the first time you watch it.

As well as this film, the climax of The Shawshank Redemption moved me also. Try Beaches too.

But this one is in the lead.

  • What's the name of the song after they drive off and the car stops in mid air. You hear a choir, I love that song. Then it stops when different scenes are shown. Thanks

  • @amberfwn

BB King - You Better Not Look Down

  • ok im sorry but them committing suicide at the end is not "cool" at all. very good movie, crappy ending.

  • @alaiiinalan how do you know they died?

  • @alaiiinalan

How else could it have ended?

I mean death by the electric chair doesn't do justice to such amazing characters

  • @alaiiinalan Surrendering to the police and going to prison is a better way to go?

  • better to go out in a blaze of glory than be locked up in the clink indefinitey.. i prob woulda done the same thing..

  • this movie changed my life <3 but did anyone else feel bad for that really nice cop guy that wanted to help them? he was the only nice gy in the film and they wre like "fuck you!" (not litterally)

  • could you please share with us how this movie changed your life.

  • so it may not have changed my life drastically, but they're bond was very insprational. its just one of those movies that strikes your heart in a way that youll never feel the same after seeing it. kinda like the notebook and the titanic, the story is just so amazing that you never quite be the same. or like watching the sandlot and saying "i wanna play baseball!!" immediately after even though youre horrible at sports. ya kno? and my friend and i are planning a cross country trip one day lol

  • @locababy007 - it was just too late, they had met too many bustards. They passed by - just bad luck, not bad intentions in my opinion

  • yeah, i guess i didnt think about it that way, although i should have. lol but yes now that i think about it i agree with you %100

  • i had an itch on my skin and watery eyes, one of my favorite films. feminism!

  • See, this is why we shouldn't let women drive.

  • How simple......

  • Comment removed

  • The best feminist film ever!!!!

  • That must have been a painful death

  • It would be right up there with having a dynamite stick in your intestines... it would hurt - but only for that fraction of a second until your body is incinerated

  • They did such an amazing job acting... They made it seem real....

    I cry!

  • Harvey Keitel is also very good, and Michael Madsen ( Jimmy, the Louise boyfriend ) and Christopher Mc Donald ( Darryl, Thelma's husband )

They're all acting perfectly and this movie is just epic :)

  • I cannot belive i still cry every single time. :'(

  • The best feminist film ever!

  • I didn't see it as a feminist offering; what's the point of strong femininity that drives itself off a canyon? It was a bittersweet tale of two ladies desperately seeking relief from the tedia of their everyday lives, that's about it.

  • amazing movie! i love it!

  • a perfect ending

  • I love that shot at 0:55. It works perfectly with the music.

  • that is one of the best shots in cinema in recent times, great music too

  • YER! the whole thing is based around a true story of friendship that was preserved in a diary of their trip and their run-away from the police! i thought you knew that!

  • this scene's always made me cry. it just shows how much a friend is disposed to do as long as the other's happy... i just wish they hadn't died...they shot the guy fir personal defence...if only they'd listend 2 the FBI guy..i cn't believe this actually happened in real life..."..lets keep going" =-(

  • this happened in real life?

  • Have it everbody in german? I love it *cry. My favorit Film!

  • I've seen this a dozen times... Still Wooooows me. Damn. Great movie!!

  • Hm, it should have showed the landing

  • Do I guess there won't be a thelma and louise 2, huh?

    did they die?

  • did they die? WHAT DO YOU MEAN DID THEY DIE? --'

  • i dont know how to descirbe my feelings about the ending

a part of me feels sad

and then theres a part of freedom

    and love

    and it just goes on

    luv the movie

  • @mauwarrior Exactly how I feel.

  • Just love this movie!

    gives me goosebumps!...

they hav a real friendship :)

& the movie just makes u feel so free, so does the music :)

    Loves xx

  • one of the best film endings ever

and a great score by hans zimmer

  • This was such a bittersweet moment. The very first time that I saw this movie, I cried hard at the end. They stayed friends up until the very end, even taking their own lives together. Now thats a damn FRIENSHIP!

  • Shel Silverstein wrote that song at the part when they jump.Very sad.Great movie.

  • this music is awesome

  • Its Hans Zimmer. Great song for a great film!!

  • is there a VIDEO OF THIS SONG

  • hey, i was wondering if anyone could possibly tell me what the title and name of the artist who composed this song in the ending credits of the film. it is so nice. goes so well too

  • HANS ZIMMER CD available called ON THE WINGS OF A FILM has the theme music of THELMA AND LOUISE ON IT AND PLENTY MORE TOO. Excellent CD available from ZAVVI OR HMV online

  • El mejor the end jamás visto

  • The 80's, and 90's had some great movies.

    A presto.

  • i've loved this movie since i was like 7 yrs old.. and im 21 now.. i love the music alot.. and the ending always gets me everytime =(

  • It's amazing how much I ry every time I watch this movie...

    Oh My God...

the message is just SO beautiful..

Although they've been thru terrible moments, they were together ALL THE TIME, and they were always having fun with it, no matter how bad it was...

That is what I call a strong friendship...

  • do they just die at the end u think?

  • I think?

    I'm sure...

    it's the god damn canyon!

  • calm doon lol

  • HAHAHAH!

    I am calm...

    it's just that..

it's such a silly question, and after watching this scene, i start to cry, because... it's just... SOO beautiful!

  • damn this move makes me cry every time!

  • amazing moovie !!!!

  • This is probably one of the most powerful scenes ever in a movie.

  • wow - for me, there's a number of things that makes this scene so great... the music, Harvey chasing after them (it almost looks like a wave...) and that tire spinning in the dirt. All this combined with their holding hands makes this just so powerful, and so sad. A fantatic original ending to an amazing film. Bravo Ridley Scott and Callie Khouri!

  • I cried for 20 minutes straight the first time I watched this movie. I went into this movie not knowing anything about it and it really took me for a ride. At the end when the Polaroid they took at the start of their trip flies off, it always gets me.

  • That is beautiful, I also got teary eyed watching it.

  • I get so teary eyed. This is so amazing!
