ok guys, wheres Tin Machine today? I had the tape a long time ago, but its almost like it went missing??? to be honest i thought it was Bowie at his best!
sorry, but Tin Machine was the most rocking thing David every did. the most raw, and unfortunately very underrated. The Sales Bros were the force behind Lust For Life (the song...the entire album), and much of Tin Machine. Too bad Europe got the best of these guys...America missed out.
picture at 4.02 says it all, to all the critics that slate David for doing this...
How many different persona's can one man have, and still 40 years on be just as good (if not better)...How many singers or groups just chuck out their next record and it sounds the same as the one before????
I could add a few examples, but there is bound to be someone out there that would be upset by my opinions, so my thoughts are my own...
I know a lot of Bowie purists and critics deride Tin Machine, but I really think it is underrated in many ways. For me Tin Machine was love at first listen.
I like elements of the first album, some of the second album, overall I think the whole project was pretty lukewarm but it did save Bowie's creative ass. But what was really great about it were the live shows, the material worked better live. From all the footage of clubs I've seen, he had so much feral energy.
Sorry, Mauerblumchen, but for me, Tin Machine is ALL about the Bowie-man. Hunt Sales' singing sounds like a cat that got caught in a lawnmower! For me, David Bowie WAS Tin Machine
