@alanbstard4 I live in Australia and they range from $6500 to $7200. I am still saving my pennies. I do not own one but I use one and have to say the features are ideal. I have mainly shot documentaries with this bad boy and have to say. Yes its worth it.
why is it nobidy ever puts these things on the shoulder to see how it sits you can stick anything on a tripod the whole point of this is its a shoulder mounted cam so show that :\
Hey, I'm lookin' for a camcorder that LOOKS LIKE the one in this video, any ideas where I can find a camcorder that LOOKS LIKE the one in this video and is cheaper? Cheers. x
@SpecialGreggsPlace Panasonic AG-HMC80 might be just what you want. Street price is $2,500 in the U.S. with all needed manual controls, HD and DV recording, shoulder mount.
Nice, I wish I could swap my HD1000U for the S270U, but I don't have the cash. The S270 seems still a bit of a toy though with its fixed viewfinder. I mean, way less of a toy than the HD1000; still a toy, nonetheless. I mean, does the S270 have the SMPTE out like the Canon XL-H1s?
This camera went down in price considerably. It now costs $6,700 at B&H. Once I have the money, it will be a natural upgrade path for me from my HD1000U.
120k onkly if you shoot footage like footage of the Twin Towers going down, or any other huge events. For fixed contracts you either have to let the company buy these or get a big salary ;)
Ofcourse you get what you pay for, and this is not the camera aimed at the prosumer market
great cam, however i would rather get the EX3 which shoots at full HD, has TC in/out and genlock. If I were sony i would have left the extra 2 xlr audio inputs and instead built TC in/out with genlock.
That camera model and me has a date in the future...sometime..
Dear santa...!

Why is it that these overpaid presenters are nearly always arrogant southerners? They do buggerall and get paid a fortune for poncing about!
