It's amazing to me how hearing a certain song can bring back a flood of memories. The last time I heard this, it was the early 70's and I was a child. My mom always stopped whatever she was doing when this song came on the radio. She used to say Marilyn (and Karen Carpenter) had voices like angels and she used to sing along to their songs. Now, my mom is no longer with us. Hearing this makes me happy, yet sad at the same time.

The Fifth Dimension were so under rated, it's a shame..........and Marilyn McCoo's voice is hard to put into words.........the emotion she sings with, this song always brings me to tears, and is the first time I heard it remastered.........the recording is so clean now, it simply adds to the intimacy of the song and is a treasure to hear on a good system. It's a shame there isn't more of this type of music today with REAL lyrics, and great harmonies. The Fifth Dimension were a class act PERIOD.

Marilyn and her husband, Billy Davis, left The Fifth Dimension and had a few hits in the 1970's. Then she went solo, and did maybe one record and a couple of Christmas records. She performs in concert but I wished she had recorded more records and had more success with it.

Marilyn got too big for the group.  But unlike Diana Ross who had a successful career after leaving the Supremes, Marilyn's recording career with her husband and on her own didn't go anywhere. She began hosting the "Solid Gold" tv series, but sadly she hasn't made many CD's.
