u say u hit throttle hold quick but u only hit throttle hold wen it was already crashed!!! As soon as the tail hit and started spinning then u should av hit throttle hold and did a small auto onto the ground!! O well get it fixed and dont crash, i dont see y ur proud of crashing i would av been more proud if i saved the heli rather than crashing it!!

Yea, actually either nitro or electric crash procedures would be helpful, obviously it would have been a lot worse had you not had the proper training and experience. Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge! :D
Yeah those are big heli's, your lucky it went away from you. We had a guy a few years ago killed himself when his heli went out of control and the main blades ripped his neck open. He bled to death on the field in less than 2 minutes...
@alishanmao Yeah and he was only flying a 450 size, imagine what a 600 size could have done. My grandfather told me once, He said. "Son learn from the mistakes of others, because you surely will not live long enough to make them all yourself." So yeah after watching a man bleed to death with his head almost chopped off I gained a new respect for RC helicopters. In the future when you lose tail control, hit the throttle hold switch & it will stop spinning on you and allow you to autorotate safely
@just4playin1 tried that throttle hold but most of the time there is not enough time or space for heli to stop spinning. but again yes, gotta respect these machines. KDS 550 can chop a head off clean without even letting the pilot feel it
@alishanmao Yeah I agree... Yeah in the case of your 600 crash you didn't have time to even blink let alone throw a switch. You did the right thing by putting it in quickly. But from the looks of the heli it will fly again... Nice to see your skill level coming up...
@gmummy Well the 1st thing you want to do and this is ONLY if you are positive your going to crash. 1. Hit the throttle cut switch. If the tail is spinning wildly it will stop spinning. 2. Neutralize collective, if you have enough altitude to sacrifice you can perform an autorotation. 3. Try to crash as flat and level as possible, let the landing gear take the hardest hit, skids are cheap and easy to fix. 4. This is MOST IMPORTANT, AVOID PEOPLE AT ANY AND ALL COSTS!!!

That wasn't at all that bad. You got very lucky Ali! I recently crashed my swift upside down at full throttle into a big elm tree trying to do some tick tocks and it cost more to fix than buying a new airframe! Lesson learned, don't try tick tocks too low to the ground when you are a newbee!

I crashed my 500 a while ago after the gyro failed.. shut off the power but still ended up with a stripped main gear, bent frame and a broken blade grip.. all from a 2 metre drop!! :(

When I crashed my flybar Outrage 550, I took the opportunity to remount it in FBL with micro BeastX... I see that it's the same for your 600. A crash is never nice but in this case it will be positive ;)

@pushinold yup i was worried bout shaft too but for now there is no bending that i can see. after repair i will find out if i need to change the shaft or feathering bar. Shaft and feathering bar on this helicopter are just too thick to bend for such minor crashes.
@pyrojets Feathering shaft is easy to find out. blades will never track well no matter what you try. Bent Shafts can be easily seen by keeping heli static and rotating the blades. sometime the bend is really minor to see from eyes so we use something that stays static and touches the top metal flat circular plate, then rotate main rotor slowly and you can find if that touching thing has a gap on certain point.
you were lucky is a really scary machine out of control , i thought the tail blades braked or maybe the servo arm but i was surprised to see the shaft teared maybe if it were belt driven it will be alive LOL
@RCNorge yup saw your first hover video on that sweet 700E. Careful with that bird. always do preflight check and always take off when heli is far from you. land far as well. these machines get really cruel when they hit you hehehe
You are lucky that you can get the parts so cheaply in China, in Australia those parts cost heaps. Anyway crashing is just part of the sport / hobby, every crash should be a learning experience. I know will be flying the 600 again soon.

Bengt 1 and Ali 1 only my crash cost 500usd to fix hehehe but i have been flying for almost one year without any crash on my 550E.. i threat her nice.. It's only my HM 83 that gets beat'n up in the air hehe
@ArcticRc hehehehe, you gotta do some new nice moves on 550E mate. I came closer to ground and crashed, so that shows i need more practice for close ground 3D and thats what I am gonna do. TREX600 Nitro pro Tic Tocs closer to grounds are simply so awesome

But do order the upgraded torque drive for your 600.. it handles more before it rips.. love you brother.. and buy the way... you need to crash more... hehe
damn great flying bro and im sure you know it by now that even the best crash once and a while ESPECIALLY helli pilots. i havent flew anything more than a fixed pitch 4 ch heli and gave that up last year because i couldnt afford parts to keep going, i hope one day i can get back into heli flying, but there is no doubt in my mind that its the most difficult of rc vehicles to operate.
I know how you feel. I was scared of crashing my T-Rex 500esp too. That is, up untill memorial day weekend, when my biggest fear was realized. The crash caused $120 in damages. I couldn`t help but cry when I saw my hit the ground. All fixed and flying again though:D.

The helicopter handled the crash well. I would have figured at least one shaft. Quick thinking on your part obviously saved most of it.

@pushinold yup i was worried bout shaft too but for now there is no bending that i can see. after repair i will find out if i need to change the shaft or feathering bar. Shaft and feathering bar on this helicopter are just too thick to bend for such minor crashes.

How do you check whether the main shaft and the feathering shaft is not bent?

@pyrojets Feathering shaft is easy to find out. blades will never track well no matter what you try. Bent Shafts can be easily seen by keeping heli static and rotating the blades. sometime the bend is really minor to see from eyes so we use something that stays static and touches the top metal flat circular plate, then rotate main rotor slowly and you can find if that touching thing has a gap on certain point.

you were lucky is a really scary machine out of control , i thought the tail blades braked or maybe the servo arm but i was surprised to see the shaft teared maybe if it were belt driven it will be alive LOL

@RCNorge yup saw your first hover video on that sweet 700E. Careful with that bird. always do preflight check and always take off when heli is far from you. land far as well. these machines get really cruel when they hit you hehehe

You are lucky that you can get the parts so cheaply in China, in Australia those parts cost heaps. Anyway crashing is just part of the sport / hobby, every crash should be a learning experience. I know will be flying the 600 again soon.

Bengt 1 and Ali 1 only my crash cost 500usd to fix hehehe but i have been flying for almost one year without any crash on my 550E.. i threat her nice.. It's only my HM 83 that gets beat'n up in the air hehe

@ArcticRc hehehehe, you gotta do some new nice moves on 550E mate. I came closer to ground and crashed, so that shows i need more practice for close ground 3D and thats what I am gonna do. TREX600 Nitro pro Tic Tocs closer to grounds are simply so awesome

@alishanmao well i do vertical piros.. 8 after each other that you need to try.. love that stunt.. But it looked like you lost a bit orientation on the nose hitting the ground with the tail.. But do order the upgraded torque drive for your 600.. it handles more before it rips.. love you brother.. and buy the way... you need to crash more... hehe

damn great flying bro and im sure you know it by now that even the best crash once and a while ESPECIALLY helli pilots. i havent flew anything more than a fixed pitch 4 ch heli and gave that up last year because i couldnt afford parts to keep going, i hope one day i can get back into heli flying, but there is no doubt in my mind that its the most difficult of rc vehicles to operate.

I know how you feel. I was scared of crashing my T-Rex 500esp too. That is, up untill memorial day weekend, when my biggest fear was realized. The crash caused $120 in damages. I couldn`t help but cry when I saw my hit the ground. All fixed and flying again though:D.
