Even in graphic novel illustration the same rules apply. To those that are new to drawing, don't start off with drawing manga or comic/cartoon. Learn how to draw realistic first, because the techniques that you learn from figure drawing will translate to other forms of illustration, not the other way around. As a result you'll have better looking drawings. Life drawing classes are a must, reference books on the human figure (photos) is the next best thing.

@vonara btw.. i draw Manga alot( only 15 and 8 grade but i actually hold my own class, on the free time ofc) and igot a question... what shodul i start teaching? i doen this for 2 years but, soemtimes im just confused and dotn know what todo :(

and after this summer i wana be WAY more prepared.. i actually took 3 hours of free tiem to copy and make maaany maps and such for each one that were i nit... soo logn time...

@KotteGames It depens on what your class will be focused. Is it more with pencils and colours pencils or your going really to draw some pictures with acryl oder watercolour? Second is the theme. Are you doing basics for painting? Or are you doing like more Human focused things like potraits or manga/anime realistic stuff and so on. ^^
