@wachararanga 3 years late but what the heck. This was real-time, so yes, this was how the game was supposed to look like. But they went out of their way, broke MGS tradition and wanted to render huge levels with lots of NPCs, they chose quantity over quality so the final product looked nothing like this, you could literally count the edges off character's faces and the textures were pretty low-res (512x512). If they stayed on the road they set out to begin with, it would've looked great.
