Do I detect a bit of whimsical irony in naming a lion Christian? Well, guys, your waggish attempt at humour miscarried wonderfully. That was no Christian you nurtured as a cub -- you raised a LION!
One of the more remarkable relationships among animal species I've seen documented. The lion Christian grew to know and trust his human mentors -- what a tribute to the character of these two men, that they merited such affection and trust! For they had obviously earned it. After the incredible foolishness of acquiring him as a cub, with the wisdom of true love they chose to give him a proper lion's life in the wild. They found their love reciprocated. @blacksystem12 actually you're wrong. the lion is clearly older (what with him being bigger and his mane almost full grown...and their hair is completely different.
choose the wild? being killed by real 'wild lions'? who knows? ido u believe your abandoned pet dog run over you one day u meet is just for a gathering??? Wish if love is there from human to animals, people could respect it's not a make believe story, Christian did struggle for survival and lost of parents and elder companion alone in the Wild. Don't just look at the moment he ran back to them, but also things behind.
I cried which I thought I was touched by the re-union, but then I figured it's the sadness I felt when seeing the lion walked over faster because he never believe they came back in one day. Would anyone feel he was desperate, imagine your pet cat used to be 'purr' around you that you left her as if a wild cat claiming that's the best for her and assume she has the skill and won't miss her master. and let struggle for survival. that's cruel... Christian was a big pet cat, not a wild lion.
That's wonderful to hear. I've loved this story since I was a kid and had always wondered what Christian's ultimate fate had been. Up till recently, there's been very little if any news as to what happened to him..needless to say it's lovely to see how stunning a cat he grew into and that in the end he obtained the life he so richly deserved. I do remember reading a comment George had made about him and how he'd grow into the biggest lion that he'd ever seen.
my doughter sharon show me this clip and cry with it ,i guess love and the master piece of aerosmith got to her.only we need love of jhon lenon could be another choice i hope someone remake this clip with jhon's song too.
we should learn from animals, when we give them love they always give back love unlike human, i think human are the only creature capable of hate and crime.
The fact that Christian came to see the guys one last time and then went BACK to the wild indicates clearly that it is Christian's choice to be in the wild. It is most comforting and reassuring that the guys did the right thing for him.
Watching this video it looks to me that Christian was a bit fed up even bored of being in this wild place, because of the way he behaved when the lads patted him..he kept yawning..his ears would go down a little, then he would brush up against George..probably to ' prick' the men's consience..this is a clever lion.. 'C' missed London and being alone with the lads, no doubt about it. The yawning gives it away.
@Kyli1234 Hi Kyli, I never knew that, it goes to show that I must take 'C' literally to be almost human! Thanks for the info..I shall look at him in future and remember - he's just tired..or as you say 'lazy'.
@Kyli1234 true, lionesses do all the work, but jackals can group and kill lionesses, thats when the lion goes to work. Do you know how many jackals it takes to kill one lion? No one knows, a single lion can defeat a hundred jackals. each animal in the pack has a job to do.
rest in peace christian .... we will carry on your memories forever..... <3 <3

Oh, I don't know..I think it was Aerosmith and 'I don't want to miss a thing' that really got to me - along with the scene of course.

I unfortunately agree. The guys truly meant well but...
I can only hope he's doing well in Africa?
Best to Cristian!!! My prayers are with you.

@1bb66 Thanks for sending me the different videos on 'C', I just love everything about him.
heulceris 1 year ago
Male lions are incredibly lazy. Never really helping with kills (when lionnesses can do it for them), and spending the majority of the day sleeping.
Due to this fact, the yawning is not a symbol.
