I dont think John Mayer is a bad singer or anything and im not trying to diss him. Im not like a huge fan of him but its not like a hate him and think hes horrible. I like this song, but I personal like it a whole lot better when Audra McDonald sings it!!! I think shes one of the best singers ever!!! she has the voice of an angel and i love her!!!!!!!! <3

Great song. GReat singer. Audra McDonald is georgous and John Mayer is brilliant. GEnious composer/song writer and performer. It's like for the BEATLES. You love him or hate him (think you hate him). Well the original song is in Dmajor... and i think shes playing this in Bb if im not mistaken so thats probably what the capo is for to get the same chord shapes.... in a different key

What makes art special is that it can be re-interpreted and understood in different ways. This is a great re-inventing of a great song. If Mr. John Mayer didn't want her singing his song he wouldn't have let her. Just because her approach is more adult doesn't make it bad, it just makes it different. And that's beautiful because it is, after all, art. :)

This is an awesome song. Some of you don't get it. That John Mayer wrote this as a very young man speaks volumes for his talent as a writer. What makes it a great song is that it can be done many different ways and still work. Audra's version works, despite her age and gender differences from Mayer. If you're 20 years old now, make sure you give this a listen again in 20-20-40 years.

I love john's version, (too bad he's sworn off acoustic forever :( ), but this one, like she says in another copy of this video's intro, its narrative and therefore kinda has that new age Broadway vibe to it.
