wow. i know this is comedy but this actually made me so sad.
i think lots of americans think that just because they speak english in ireland, it's european, and an industrialized nation, that they're just as well off as us.
not even close. we don't know just how good we've got it here. sometimes i can't stand my own culture. we have so much, and we have the means to help so many people. messed up.
During the 80s in the US there were a lot of Americans outside NYC and Boston who did not have indoor plumbing yet, water heaters, tumble dryers, and all of the other shit Dez is taking about. The economy was bad and many Americans suffered because of that as well. But still, we never did a fraction of the bitching and the finger pointing the Irish do.
@keithoyoung34 Ya Well said lyk. Your man wudn't step out a his own arse to complain about anything. Thats whats wrong with a lot a americans nowadays. Too afraid to stand up for what they fuckin want lyk.

That was one of the most spot on, funny and genuinely uncomfortable bits of comedy I've ever heard.
When a comic has you feeling ashamed about laughing or smiling but unable to avoid it and unsure quite how to react they have mastered their art.
Sad, funny, true.
Good man, Des.
