There's plenty of vids on YT of the Focus eating lots of other cars for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and then crapping them out. Although, the Focus did lose this bout, IT WENT AGAINST A FERRARI! The fact that a Focus even finished respectably behind a Ferrari speaks volumes to the potentials (after alot of mods and lots of love) of this little Ford car. I own a Focus and Lancer and to be honest, I think my Focus, with upgrades, could easily beat the crap out of my Lancer any day of the week. ;)
@archangelmichael1978 That being said, another point is, you can buy both cars, Focus and Lancer. A new Titanium Focus (top of the line) VS a new Lancer GT (not quite a Ralliart or EVO) and get your Lancer for roughly $3k less than you'd pay for the Focus, and the stock Lancer GT will dominate/rape your stock Focus. Even though the Focus has a huge aftermarket upgrade community (ie fswerks.com etc) it can (after upgrades) spank a Lancer, Mitsubishi brings ALOT of bang for the buck to the table.
@archangelmichael1978 But, that comment isn't taking into consideration a mod Lancer. So much out there. Don't get me started on the Lancer fanboy community. All in all, I don't hate on either or anyone into rally racers. Ford has done a fine job on the Focus and it should be respected. Even to you, Subaru fans, we all have fine race cars and the debate/grudge will go on forever. My Focus vs your Scooby vs my Lancer vs everything to come. This, above all else, is why I love this class of cars.
@archangelmichael1978 My advice to anyone in the market for something exciting, sporty, race/street car is to get into the rally/compact community. The mods are endless and regardless of what you get, be it a Focus, Lancer, WRX, Mazda, there is a loyal following of great folks. You can mod your car to retarded levels of awesomeness in under $4k. I'm rally for life now. I love it ALL!!! From the cars, to the mods, to the chill people I meet along the way. I hope to see YOU at the next red light.
