Your acting is so natural and I can see you in a lot of movies :) I'm planning to do this monologue as an audition for my school play but I don't think I'll be able to act it as well as you do. You were amazing!
whoa. I thought you were serious at first. Then I started reading the info and title where it said monologue. haha good job for making me sad till the info. Keep posting more. ^_^
@CAteen69 Maybe I should add to the title, because you're not the only one! My name isn't Rachel, that should give it away. :-P But thank you! Even though it made you sad (don't like making people sad), I'm glad you think I did a good job! :-D
I have seen at least three other actors try to do this monologue on YouTube. I have to say that this is the best one that I have seen. You are subtle, but powerful. On top of that, you don't try to copy Hathaway completely. Very well done!
Aww, thank you! I've seen the movie twice, but tried not to base my interpretation on hers (even tried to avoid watching it the second time but I had trouble interpreting the last line so I watched the scene once more). I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. :-D
I am a student and I am taking a theater course to fulfill an art credit. I am really contemplating doing this for our monologue assignment. Any helpful hints?
Hmmm. Well I do a combination of two things... One is just really try to imagine what I'm describing, and how I feel about it, and then I also draw upon my own grief over someone I lost (to drowning). Advice... I'd say make sure not to rush through it (but don't drag it out). And really try to see the story you're telling... does that help at all?
That does help. Thank you so much. I think the real challenge is going to be the crying issue. I cried so hard during this part of the movie. I think if I practice that I'll be okay.
