Those plush hoity toitys are not impressed. You just don't play that awful jazz music on a classical instrument like a violin. Look behind the girl as she's playing her violin. That old gal behind her looks like she was weened on pickle juice. Lighten up. Contrary to your thinking people this IS music like it or not. Superb performance. Two great talents. Viva la jazz violin.
I've never heard string players swing (and tear it up) like this!! Regarding rexydad's comment, they've both REALLY updated the swing / bebop feel on the violins. Not only that, but they play melodically interesting ideas! GREAT STUFF!!!
Wonderful. I always thought the violin was the easiest instrument to play jazz on because of its dexterity. Just that violinist were to square to execute it properly.
As a Gypsy & Scottish violinist with classical training myself, I can assure you that we can be quite well-rounded if we've still got a bit of our inner-child left :o)
@ddx420 i guess you've never heared (seen) a real, classical violinist playing a caprice or something... this is easy stuff (and short) comparing to -for example- some of paganini caprices :)
Brilliant stuff. Sounded as though there wasn't much improvisation but followed the original solos from the 1947 Herman recording. I don't have a problem with that because they were brilliant.
Absolutely brilliant. There are no other words to describe their talent and musicianship.

@ThePablo901 You're quite right. And, don't forget the seemingly impossible "Dance of the Goblins." WOW! That piece is simply frightening!!
