  • thats the old thomas that used to be at all the day out with thomas programs.

now they scraped that modle and use more realistic ones.

  • WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT POOR THOMAS ENGINE!? SEND HIM TO THE

    STEAMWORKS FOR REPAIRS!

  • I know its real, but is that a extra large steam engine or something? He looked increidably small compared to thomas. I know the shunter is small, but that thing is big :O

  • @DualorProductions but santa fe's are bigger

  • Looks like old Thomas needs a date with a can of WD-40. Cool switch engine.

  • thomas the fail engine

  • who is thomas engineer?

  • Sadly, only some railroads and railways have the correct bogey for Thomas like Boone Senic Valley

  • Where's his face?

  • I went here when I was around 5, and I wondered what happened after we left.

I'm 13 now, and now I know. Thanks for the upload!

  • Thomas a powered locomotive and can't move by itself. There is a smoke unit to make smoke and batterey to run the animated face and headlight. Thomas is usually placed at the front of the train and a diesel place at the rear that actually powers the train.

  • @UnionPacificBNSF, This Thomas can move under its own steam, it is the former BEDT #13. The others you see are dummies.

  • @oaksmodelrr correction it's former BEDT #15

  • @oaksmodelrr I heard that most Thomases don't run on steam. But this one does. This is the REAL Thomas.

  • @oaksmodelrr This is BEDT #15

  • @UnionPacificBNSF The Thomas at Strasburg is a live steam engine that operates under its own power. There are six or seven "dummy" Thomas's that travel around to most of the other events across the U.S. and Canada.

  • @UnionPacificBNSF this one can! it was former BEDT 13, strasburg rebuilt it into Thomas, The one you seen were the dummies.

  • @UnionPacificBNSF Look at his driving rods, that may help you to determine the fake ones from the real ones. The real driving rods look well.... real. =) The fake ones are just one flimsy rod.

  • @UnionPacificBNSF He's right, I've seen this one several times at Spencer Steam Preservation Park, no backing engine.

  • the kids in the back round behind the camra are like nnnnnnnnnnnooooooooooo thomas is dead. then forget 10 min. later

  • thomas blow up

  • ahhh thomas is a imposter!

  • so what happend to tomas i rode on his train when i was 3ish now im 14

  • did a japan bullet train hit him /on the font poor thomas what is he looking at now

  • He recked!

  • how can that little desil push and pull that huge 0-6-0 steam train

  • AAAHHHH!!!!! Some Strange Creature Ate His Face!!!!

  • Is that a Plymouth switcher?

  • You people do know that ALL steam locomotives need to be completely overhauled on an anual basis, right? "Thomas" is not imune to FRA regulations.

  • oh my god! what's wrong with your face!!!

  • Thata fake real thomas is in london

  • did something bad hapen?

  • that dinkey better watch out that swicther could easly over power it

  • they were restoring thomas

  • @MrDoctorDalek

    That's alright. Everybody makes mistakes.

  • How come the US only has replicas of Thomas the Tank Engine? Why couldn't they do a replica of Percy, James, Rosie, Lady, or even Hank? The UK has more replicas of other characters than us.

Great video though. I'm glad their not scrapping this Thomas replica.

  • do you know of a real Lady?

  • Um........well, Lady is not real so. Maybe the UK has a replica of Lady. I am an American so our country only has replicas of Thomas the Tank Engine.

  • what i thought that thomas the tank engine was real? No i wondered if there was a replica my mistake.

  • @ThomasRules8391 no Lady in our country I'm afraid

  • @ThomasRules8391 I work with steam engines in the UK and I dont really like it to much when historic engines are painted stupid colours to look like thomas the tank engine. You might be intrested to know that alot of uk railways have freight wagons in liverys of the troublesome trucks.

  • what are they doing?

  • this was when hes being made

  • what happened?

  • @KonradAdenauer they were probably just doing some work on him

  • YOU HURT THOMAS. YOU BASTARDS. LOL

  • You want to get some WD-40 on that.

  • This video is just so funny. It doesn't sound too healthy at all here. ROFL :D

  • co se mu stalo chudák

  • hahahaha I would pay to see some kid crying after watching this video.

  • hahahahaha

ok people you got to admit that this video is awsome

  • This wasn't meant to be Thomas related, this is real railway industrial work. Standard shunting was used to haul an engine dressed up as Thomas into it's desired location.

  • HA HA!

    "DADDY DADDY, THOMAS IS DEAD!"

    "oh no, he's not"

    'YES HE IS DADDY!!!! *screams*"

  • 0_0 calm downs...he just neaded repairs, tell your child that

  • wtf did they do to thomas!!!!!!!!!!!!11 =O :'(

  • if the little kids saw this then they'd think thomas died XDXD

  • no, what is painted on the side of the plymouth is "strasburg"

  • Wheres his face :(

  • I have never seen that small little thing run. Cool video! 5*****! I can here N&W 475 in the backround! I saw him last night! I'm back in NJ now though.

  • every one get it right! it's not a "Dinkey", it's a Plymouth Diesel locomotive and its switching not shifting.

  • The locomotive's name IS "Dinkey". It is painted on the side of the cab.

  • THANK YOU for posting a video with sound of an operating PLYMOUTH(Fate-Root-Heath) gasoline powered locomotive.

  • Search the web for Brooklyn Eastern District Terminal - A Comprehensive History 1870-1983. That site has a great deal of info and a lot of pix of the steam locomotives (and diesels) that operated there

  • Thomas was built out of H. K Porter construction number 5966. Originally built in March 1917 for Mesta Machine Co. (as their #4)of West Homestead, PA. On an unknown date, it was sold to the Brooklyn Eastern District Terminal of Brooklyn, NY and renumbered #15 where it operated until 1963. It was then sold in 1965 where it went to South Appalachia Rwy of Burnsville, NC. In 1975 it went to the Toledo, Lake Erie & Western of Grand Rapids, OH. Strasburg acquired the loco in 1998.

  • Is this when they were building the life-size Thomas?

  • They were probably shifting it around for repair work. It was already in operable condition during the filming of this vid...

  • So the little red thing is the Dinkey? Is it diesel? Does the tank engine run? 5*

  • yes

  • Cool I want one of those so I can ride the abandoned rail lines! lol.

  • lol yea
