  • Very nice first time flying...I did laugh when you moved closer to the heli which everyone seems to do including myself the first time.

Reason I laughed is cause it doesn`t really matter if you move closer or away from it, the signal from the transmitter to the receiver will be the same wether you are 5 feet away or 100 feet away.

  • i cant keep mine stable like that y!!! >=( lol

  • You got a winner here. Nice vid

  • @CrazyHeliDude Thanks!!

  • nice man. but never bring the heli so close to you and stop moving on flying time ,

  • Excellent music, definitely digging it.

I just got a Blade 400 pnp as a christmas gift and I'm really looking forward to flying it., It's my first rc heli. Unfortunately it's the middle of winter in Michigan, so I may have to make do with my Blade 400 on RealFlight for a while :(

  • @DecaTarce if you feel confident enough and you have a big room in your house hover just like 2 inches obove the ground just to get that itch for flying it away ;)

  • With any luck it'll warm up just a little and I'll be able to get some flying time in before long. I'm planning to run it to the LHS for help getting it balanced and trimmed out, since I have no experience with helis at all outside of Realflight.

Have anything in particular to say about the handling/characteristics of it? Anything you're really really happy with or anything to watch out for?

  • @DecaTarce to be honest i just got mine yesterday for my birthday im like you ive only flown on realflight but i flew it outsid today just hovering and its not that simalar to real flight graet adrenilen rush though and get the practice stabulizers

  • Yeah I got my practice gear built and ready to strap on :p

Does it actually feel a lot different from RF flying it, or is it mostly just the fear of crashing it making everything scarier lol

  • @DecaTarce well the throttle is not as reactive as it is in real flight and yes it is mor scary cuz the fear of crashing its wierd cuz i was flying mine today and i was suprised at how comfortable i was with it so i decied to bring it up a little higher went up slowy but next thing i knew i was more the 10 ft in the air but with nice control of it and it started moving forwar but there was a tree and it was too close to turn around so i throotled down and i landed half on sement half on bark

  • @DecaTarce the blades snagged a bush and broke(isnt realy a problem i was gonna upgrade to carbon fiber) two servos got stipped(which also isnt a problem since i have a blade cp thats not working and i could snag the servos from it or i have a buch of opened up servos that are useless and i could use the gears from them) i also broke the landing gear on it but other wise it was a blast today and did not know how good i was(besides the minor incedent) :)

  • you use idle up for 3d eg: upside down.

  • Thank you for your comment. I use idle up for a more stable flight, because of the higher gyro effect of the main rotor. But the heli is also much more agile.

  • you can change a setting on your gyro to be a lot more active when flying when you use idle up it uses a lot more of your battery and you get less time flying the heli.

  • Thats sweet!! great video, nice job flying and nice background music too. Little too close to them spinning blades dont you think, they cant be good for you!

  • Thank you! Yes you are right. I was too close to the heli. The next flights were better - sometimes 300 ft away :-).

    Greetings

    Frank

  • Great job frank very smoooooth nice vid.

  • Thank you!

  • What song is that?

  • It is the song "In My Heart" from "Rue Du Soleil" You find it on Cafe del Mar

  • Very good flying there, you can see how on edge you were but the way you were stood but you flew it very well and looked in control, loops next then . . . . . .

  • Thank you Ian! I hope the weather will be good soon, that I can try my first loop :-)

    Greetings from Germany

    Frank

  • Think you are a long way from your first loop, master nose in first !!

  • good job buddy! You need to relax a little while flying! lol! Your body posture says how stressed out you are!lol!

    Good control thoug!

  • Thank you! Yes it is very stressful :-)

I hope you are right that I have a good control. My first real round trip will show us.

    Greetings

    Frank

  • it amazes me how you guys launch and land in the grass. I tried that one time and I ended up with a very bad crash. I lost a boom, boom supports two servos and a set of blades. also a feathering shaft and a new main shaft. Maybe it is the grass here in florida i dont know.

  • Hi, I am sorry for your crash about the gras. I know the gras in Florida. It is more than two times thickedr than our gras here in northern Germany. The other impartant thing is, the gras must be very short. My tailrotor touch it only a little bit.

  • Looking good, i should try it more :)

  • Thank you, but I think you are already a great pilot. :-)

  • LOL, thanks. If only....

  • your alot better than most of us mate, have faith in your self lol.

  • Cheers mate, appreciated.

  • Good job frank flips will come in time trust me ... whin i did my first won it was a rush..i got a new heli it ia a hdx 500se v2 i will get some video of it soon.

  • Thank you. I cannot await to fly on a big field. I hope I will find the time soon and hope the weather will be good enough at tthe same time. That is a big problem. I hove the Blade 400 since January and I hover and flew only 30 times. I am very interested in your new videos. Your Blade 400 videos shows a great pilot.

    Greetings

    Frank

  • Nice one mate, your looking very good now and it's alot easier with the training gear off isn't it lol,as i have taken mine off the mini pred 3D aswell now,i'll have to post some more videos soon.five stars.

  • Thank you very much for your comment and the five stars. If you have more time than me to practice I believe you will make your first loops long time before I will do.

  • Nice job you have good control of the blade, one day i hope i do the same.

  • Thank you very much! But your third hover is also very good. Only two ore three times more hovering and you can take away your training gear. Believe me. You should try it.

  • Nice job dude. I see you backing away from it. It is a bit scary at first but once you get use to it you'll fly in Idle up all the time. Very good control.

  • Hi peisen, Thank you for your comment. I saw your videos. You are a very cool great aerobatic pilot. I hope I can also do this with my blade 400 some day. But I have not enough time to practice.

In my video, idle up was switched on during the whole hover flight. The different sound depends by the different battery level in the different scenes.

  • Thanks dude. I hope you keep posting vids of your progress. I feel my flying is still a bit sloppy, I'm currently working on smooth.

  • Hi capt,so is your idle up your 3D switch?

  • Hi Ian, yes exact.

  • Thanks for the reply mate,im going to pick my blade 400 up tomorrow if they have got it in stock so keep your fingers crossed lol.

  • Yes I'll do. Good luck!

  • Cheers mate, got one YES lol, just charged the batt up and now it's raining out side just my luck ha ha.

  • Oh, I know that. Here we have almost alwys strong wind. That is not good too.
