It's sad that the world hasn't changed in the time since his death. Everything he talked about 20 years ago is still relevant, just change some names and dates and it's a perfect match.
If anything it's worse. Bill Hicks was a real humanist, even a patriot in my eyes. He cared so much he took the piss to show us how terrible the world is, a campaigner for peace who used his special talent of being bloody funny.
