  • Holy shit, Calvin Klein model!

  • I think he would be glad to see this... very glad...

  • looks like bruno mars, lol

  • i have always pondered what joseph merrick really looked like behind the deformity. i doubt this is how joseph actually appeared, but it was a very good reconstruction nonetheless (and who knows, maybe he did look something like that). i would have loved to see how he looked as a child before his deformity became overwhelming. at least we could have gotten an idea of what he may have looked like as he got older. not that it matters really. he was beautiful where it truly matters.

  • Incredibly impressive. I really enjoyed this. Thanks

  • Never seen an elephant like this..

  • Ugh, fuck. It pisses me off that he looked this way. He could have been fucking handsome. -.-

  • AND HE'S GOT A 6 PACK NOW WAT!!! ME AND ELEPHANT MAN ARE GOING TO DA BEACH!!! WOOHOO but seriously though well done on this vid

  • The diagnosis of Neurofibromatosis has been completely dismissed. Mr. Merrick suffered Proteus Syndrom.

  • Brilliantly done and shows a beutifull man behind this awful condition.

  • Very well done!! You have brought a big chunk of his dignity back letting everyone know behind it all he was still human.

  • Very well done. It makes me think of the line in the movie 'The Stand' when they've hypnotized Tom Cullen and he says "This is God's Tom" I think you've shown us Gods John Merrick.

  • great work ..very interesting ..subbed..really like ,,the billy the kid..

  • he was beautiful before you did this.

  • @jeezmeg That's why I gave you both options.

  • thats very interesting, and you kept the eyes as a focus... i think he would have been very handsome.. probably now.. they could have reduced those tumours etc..

  • is this true

  • Beautiful! My daughter does an illustrated oratory called "Loving the Unlovely" using Joseph Merrick's story along with artist conceptions of what he might have looked like without the disease. My other daughters drew them by hand. I taught my daughters to mentally photoshop people. If you can visualize people with perfect bodies they are easy to love. Look up C.S. Lewis "no ordinary people" quote. Merrick had strong faith in God, and the resurrection. Merrick's story has encouraged so many!

  • ok you can do this with photoshop, so what?

  • @nalaskingdom Photoshop is just a medium, and it can't independently transform a photo any more than a pen can sign your name for you. Try this yourself and you'll catch on pretty quick.

  • Best reconstruction of Joseph Merrick. Well done

  • lovely job!

  • I like this. I like to think he would have too. He wanted to be "like normal people".

  • This is a neat job:)

But sadly.. I think even modern science would't have been able to make him look like that... Still.. John remains in our visions as kindhearted person who wanted to be accepted as human being.

  • I think it will be a little difficult to revive him, hes been dead for a hundred years.

  • he actually did have proteus, its been decided in recent medical journals

  • One thing about Joseph he was a strong man. He didn't let anything hold him back. :)

  • Props to anyone who looks like the finished project

  • i hope he got a shag of a woman i know he was in a bad way but it would of been a bummer to not have a bit threw your life

  • amazing

  • i woud wish they coud save him from the Disease back then :(

  • You made him look like a victim of andersonville

  • LOL you gave elephant man a six pack...how could you not love that :D

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • Excellent. I used to show my students the movie based on his life. What a spirit he had.

  • Very nice :) I'm impressed

  • Thank you, I am sure Merrick himself would have treasured a picture of himself as he would be without the devastation of the disease, as any of us would. He had a normal curiosity as we all have and actually history tells us he had a keen intellect and questing mind. This was fascinating.

  • Wonderful and heartbreaking, you must love Mr. Merrick as much as I do. I'm not ashamed to say that this made me weep. Thank you for accomplishing what must have ben a difficult job. I think it adds a whole new dimension to the tragedy.

  • Hey Joseph Merrick was a beautiful person no matter what happened. Thus says this is totally unnecessary. There is no such thing as normal or broken or fix. It's all part of who we are DON'T TRY TO CHANGE THAT!!!!

  • @Orianmast18 And I am guessing that Joseph Merrick wanted to have tumors? plus it helps to read descriptions this artist is not "fixing" anything.

  • People can be ugly and yet so beautiful at the same time. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.

  • This is simply beautiful. A transformation. Thanks for the video.

  • Is that an actual photo?

  • Well done.

  • I wish, this would be really possible! Think, how many people you could make a better life! I mean not, that people like him are ugly, but they don´t live long, cause of their tumores or deformities >.<

  • time well spent

  • Beautifully done.

  • At 1:29 his hand suddenly turn's like Jeremy Beadles!

  • I will never make fun of anyone ever again... :'(

  • R.I.P

  • i did actually i just don't see if he look any better or worse its well done its an art its just odd to me

  • why would you do that every one is beautiful .people dont need you to "fix" them to your standards

  • @jerzyjuggalette You might have taken a moment to read the video description before you decided to upset yourself ahead of time.

  • @JudeMaris Thank You! People are so quick to jump the gun on just about anything. They are too dam lazy to do a little looking to find out the whole story.

  • @jerzyjuggalette READ THE VIDEO DESCRIPTION MORON! Nobody is trying to 'fix' anything. Geez.

  • @jerzyjuggalette the elephant man was far from beautiful he was badly deformed i think he would of loved to have seen this if he was alive anyone would in his case

  • shame they couldnt of done nothing for the poor twat he had it bad in life

  • Dove cazzo è Dio?

  • He truly was a beautiful man. A male friend of mine asked me who he was (I have a picture of him on my Facebook page) and said that he was ugly. I came to Merricks defense and replied he's not ugly at all. He was a normal human being with a disease that was all. He was no worse than anyone in this world. Mind you this came from a 37 year old overweight man with no girlfriend and who still lives with his mother. People are so cruel.

  • @Baltimora1957 this make me cry really..when i saw ppl are not pleasure with them, with their finnancial status, with much more other things but not so immportant..but they dont think that they have luck to be normal human,to live in peace and have healthy life..everybody think that hes problems are the biggest on world noone knows that somewhere are ppl who deeply suffer..and wish to be a normal..

  • Incredible. I'm sure if he were alive today this would be the greatest gift anyone could give to him.

  • @TigersPrettyBunny not really its like buying a hadicapped person a pair of running shoes its more of a tease if anything but its truly beautiful work.

  • @TigersPrettyBunny I really dont think so. Joseph Merrick was VERY sensitive about his appearance, even as he was so brave about it. This video is moving, but somehow very sad too.

  • Aww.... So sad :(

  • AWSOME JOB ;)

  • I heard he has family members, cousins alive in England today.

  • Great job, very impressive!

  • wow.

  • Well done!

  • That was absolutely breathtaking and extremely well rendered !! Beautifully done !! (-Now I know what that Mastodon song is about...wow)

  • Godbless his soul! xo

  • quite an emotional video!

  • Thank you for doing this. I just finished watching The Elephant Man. Last time I saw it I was much younger and it still makes me weep for this poor man who suffered so much.

  • when the hell did think you saw abs on him?

  • @DuncanzeDwarf Dunno. About the same time I saw him without all the tumors, I reckon. Looking forward to critiquing your version, though, so get crackin' on it.

  • @DuncanzeDwarf He doesn't really have abs... Maybe you are just really weak?

  • he was a remarkably intelligent human being

  • Totally awesome job...

  • he looks like a black freddie mercury

  • The name of this song is in the end of the video. "The Veiled Lady"

  • whats the name of this beautiful song..?

  • thanks for doing this

  • you mean to tell me,if he wasnt deformed he wouldve looked like freddie mercury

  • This is amazing! what is the name of this beautiful music?

  • wonderful effort, it's a shame he's not alive to see this.

  • @westendgla He is in Heaven, so he will see this!.

  • This was amazing. Very well done

  • Amazing!

  • A great idea and beautifully executed. Both sensitive and stark.

  • with what program did you edit it?

    incidentally 5* well done

  • wow, amazing, I think he would like this.

  • best video in all of youtube

  • Oh my gosh.. this was so beautiful. It made me cry to see this. Well done.

  • @pianomama1635 You gave back what the disease took away from Joseph. But ultimately, it was his soul that made him beautiful - even despite his deformity.

  • That was the most beautiful and moving thing. I cried. What a handsome man he would have been - but he was still and always will be a beautiful person . And the music was perfect.

  • STOP IN THE 3:34 eternally.

  • Naturers beauty--Douchebag

The mind's the standard of the man.

  • so beautiful

  • wow

  • To be quite honest, this would have been a perfect backdrop to the rolling credits at the end of the 1980 film. Bravo

  • o my god,this is...sad

  • Great video!

  • The classic saying " I am not an animal, I am a human being", so true. Thanks, great video.

  • Although those words of dignity and courage were from the film, the real Joseph lived them every day.

  • The true beauty of a person is what's inside.

  • Beautiful, haunting music too!

  • This was truly sad, but beautiful.

  • I think deep inside of J. John Merrick he saw himself very much like this restoration.

  • he looks like pelosi

  • @trojantjl No he doesn't.

  • Mel, this is some of your most impressive work. It is hard to imagine an intelligent mind trapped in such a horrible way. I have The Elephant Man movie with Anthony Hopkins and John Hurt in my video collection. 5***** and more Mel + favorite. I also featured your Winter Lullaby on my safeharbor7 channel, hope you don't mind.
