The light sensor is programmed to "hate" black. So actually when you hit black you loose points.

You start with a "shield" of 1000 points. Each time you hit black, you loose points. The game is over when the shield is zeroed and the screen displays your record which is the total time (in seconds) you have traveled. Of course there are some more "cookies" in the gameplay, but the actual concept is what I described above.

@ShadowRocks25 It looks like the machine just stops momentarily then starts up again. I believe that it steadily speeds up until you hit a black brick (or the motor speed maxes out in which case it will probably just keep going at max speed until you hit a black brick)

Thanks generaljoker22! This is actually consisted of two separate treads that are linked together using 1x16 bricks. The bricks (2x8 and 1x16) are mounted on the treads with the use of common Technic pins. For efficiency, the entire construction is powered by two NXT motors (...treads are too heavy with all these bricks on them).

A color sensor can give the opportunity to make gameplay more amusing (e.g. you loose points depending on the color you hit and gain some extra points -bonus- if you hit some special colored items).
