  • Thanks for posting this, utterly beautiful, my boyfriend and I are looking to visit the Taj Mahal when we come back to India next year, so looking forward to it, worth getting up early too.

  • They should really put more into restoration and preservation of this beautiful place, Who on earth will think to build like this ever again? It is a monument to both Hindu and Islamic cultures in India. Where materialistic beauty comes to mind, the Mughals had it. Where spiritual beauty comes to mind the Hindus had it. What place on earth where such two flavors combine to make this.....no place other then India.

  • I travelled around India, it was chaos, going from laughing to crying in fast sequences, so much to see from the hilarious to the heartbreaking. & then standing infront of the Taj Mahal awestruck in a captivated moment and in that moment the jigsaw that is India fell into place.

  • Spot on!! You seem like the man with all the answers. Oh! why! oh! why aren't you the president of India. We need someone who has got it all figured out.

  • it was shah jahan who built it,,,and neva bitch abot your own country dumb ass..

  • your ignorance about our History and Culture alone say´s alot about your knowledge and your Statement.

Taj Mahal was not built by Akhbar but by his GrandSon Shahjahan. Akhbar died on October 27, 1605; and the building of this World Wonder Taj Mahal bagan in 1632 and was completed around 1953.

Akhbar the Great was one of the most successful Mughal Emperor and is written by Historian as Akhbar the Great becuase of his many achievements and great work during his Rule. please don´t comment shit

  • correction my Typing mistake, it was completed in 1653

  • lol

  • Beautiful......

  • can somebody tell me who´s song is this? it´s beautiful

  • radiohead - i will

I'm planning my backpack trip to india

taj mahal look awesome, hope that i have enough time to travel there

  • the story which people know about taj mahal, is not true. Originally, its name is tejo mahalaya and it was a hindu temple...it was built, before shahjaha exist and his wife is buried somewhere else, but not in tejo mahalaya...

  • it was not Hindu temple, you idiot. Zahiriddin Muhammad Bobur took over India and ruled for centuries and his grand son built it with the architectors from Central Asia. Babur was Turkiy and came from Central Asia, currently Uzbekistan! Building style is purely similiar to Buildings in Bukhara, Samarkand and Khiva. while we were so adnvanced in every aspect of life in Central Asia, in India Hindoes were jumping from tree to tree with no clothes on. Babur tought them how to live humanly. :D

  • u bloody ediot.....u and ur ancistors were thiefs and will b thief, killing inocent people, looting wealth, gold, diamonds...force convertions of religion was the begining of muslims did in India.... he was some shitty king sultan.. hindu temples were looted and distroy by build mosk at the same place....where as some places in south india, archiologists have found the buriel of some kings and threw the statues of hindu god and godess, underground temple....

  • WELL SAID ABOUT MUSLIMS

  • dude. fuck off

  • u aziz motherfucker, son of 100 bitch....go fuck with ur one of 100's..........

  • India is the birthplace of one of the oldest, maybe the olds civilization on the Earth. Culturally all asian cultures and civilizations are basicly indian and chinese. The euopean languages are called indo-european because of early indian worldwide influence.

  • Europe is not really a continent, it's part of the Asian continent, scientifically speaking. To the racists out there it's good to know that the only aryan people living in Europe today are the Gypsy, leftover from the days of the indu influence.

  • i went there last oct in 07 was soooo goood bigger than ur expecting make sure u bring back small taj mahals u can buy there

  • Didnt they bomb this place up..thats what i heard..

  • seeing this is like on alladin..

  • Going to visit the Taj Mahal in January 2009, can't wait.

  • Fantastic buddy, that's the right time to go (I think). In winter. Enjoy the horse ride to it!

  • Thanks for the reply, the horse ride to it sound interesting, looking forward to it.

  • Hi Dude well visited the Taj Mahal and yes it was absolutly stunning something that will stay with you forever, and did the horseride to it brilliant!

  • This is breathtakingly beautiful.

  • thanks very much, this was worth the effort..of waking up at 5am in the morning to shoot this small film !

  • I belong to Agra and I have visited Taj many times since 1956.I never get tired of seeing it again and again. in fact every time i visit it I find it fresh and anew that is why I rate Taj Mahal the most beautiful building in the world. But one should avoid visiting Taj during May and June as the white marble dazzles so brightly that you cannot open your eyes standing on the main podium.also the heat in summer months takes away all the pleasure and excitement of tour.

  • I am more interested in knowing the contractors and consultants, involved in building this amazing piece of art. The fact that the material used is good enough to stay like this for centuries, shows the dedication and honesty of these guys. But then, they were working under the royal whip and any cutting corners, would have resulted in amputation! ;-)

  • Did you know that the structure of Taj is built upon 60 man-made wells? These were deliberately dug up to absorb earthquake tremors, and so far they've worked, too - not a crack in the marble structure.

If you do go see it, make it towards the last days of December - when you see the Taj bathed in frosty fog at night, you'll know why. Then again, at dawn it looks unreal, as if it's not really there.

  • I have visited the Taj, and I can say that looking at it is incomparable to any pictures of it. It is truly BREATHTAKING, MESMERIZING,ENCHANTING & POIGNANT. Well I'm no poet, but looking at it I wish I was.

About night viewing, I thought entry was not allowed?

  • zsam22, you're right, night viewing isn't allowed - but during the last days of December night falls much earlier so you can defnitely catch a couple of hours after sunset - it is truly breathtaking. The fact that it's marble also drops a couple of degrees and the whole building is bathed in a misty white. I thought it looked like a painting, it was surreal.

  • In a way you are right. Actually the Taj was meant to be viewed in Moonlight. So the time you mention; if it is a fullmoon night, could imbue a white glow to it, and like you said, make it all surreal.

I wonder what it would be in a Blue Moon! ;-)

  • Interesting...

This teminds me the gift that I made for a girl that I liked.

    It was a...

    Oh, who cares?

    This place its great.

  • great! 10x!

  • beautiful!

  • a song from Radiohead, need to find the title! ;o)

the acid rain is getting at it from all

    the heavy industry surrounding it.
