In order to knock out Floyd you would have to really catch him by surprise which is going to be very difficult because Floyd is aware of everything being thrown and body movements... that's why he is great...
Yes Floyd has the best defensive skills in the sport, but then to belittle Manny's understanding on defense is just plain stupid. Manny actually has better defense then people give him credit for. 2009 onwards his guards are always up when he isn't throwing, because of his footwork he's in and out as soon as he attacks, he side steps, evades and has good upper body movement. He has better defense then Mosley, Margarito, Cotto, De La Hoya, Hatton and Marquez just to name a few.

What you said is true Marquez is one probably one of the best offensive counter punchers and gave Manny a very tough fight. But I'm talking about defense (The ability to evade/block punches). Marquez often gets off balance and often does not guard or evade due to his slow reflex hence why he normally gets knocked down by his opponents. But he makes up for it with his crafty counter punching and very sturdy chin.
I've seen Mosley fight. His defense isn't very good in my opinion. More often then not his thinking of a way to hit you with a good shot and doesn't focus enough on guarding or stepping side to side. He relies on his speed and his intent to hit you first, and pays very little attention to his defense because he's never really had to.

@Mykouw Mosely kept on punching away after he stunned Floyd instead of trying to pace himself. Instead, he threw heavy punches and Floyd kept hitting him in the stomach to drain him even more. The same combos he tried to hit him with before were nullified because he wasnt open in those same spots. Which is why people say it was fixed but if you look while he was clinching, he kept on hitting his stomach to drain his stamina more. Shane didnt throw the fight, he just lost.

Mosley took out Margarito late in that fight had punches to spare with plenty of speed in round 8-9 yet he can't finish little Mayflower in the second round after staggering him? FIXED FIGHT, then he just stops throwing that simple 1, 2 combo and never even tried to go after Mayflower again, FIXED FIGHT.

it seems like pacroids are underestimating the punching power of mosley,the hugely overated pacman has no defense at all he relies on his hand speed to attack and he forgets to cover his face. that was no problem with slow opponents like margachito or hatton but mosley is fast and powerful i smell an upset

@munsayac13 Floyd came back from the hit. He's done it in numerous fights where he had gotten hit before. Mosley didn't hit him by surprise, he saw it so that's why he grabbed the arm. In order to knock out Floyd you would have to really catch him by surprise which is going to be very difficult because Floyd is aware of everything being thrown and body movements... that's why he is great...

Yes Floyd has the best defensive skills in the sport, but then to belittle Manny's understanding on defense is just plain stupid. Manny actually has better defense then people give him credit for. 2009 onwards his guards are always up when he isn't throwing, because of his footwork he's in and out as soon as he attacks, he side steps, evades and has good upper body movement. He has better defense then Mosley, Margarito, Cotto, De La Hoya, Hatton and Marquez just to name a few.

What you said is true Marquez is one probably one of the best offensive counter punchers and gave Manny a very tough fight. But I'm talking about defense (The ability to evade/block punches). Marquez often gets off balance and often does not guard or evade due to his slow reflex hence why he normally gets knocked down by his opponents. But he makes up for it with his crafty counter punching and very sturdy chin.

I've seen Mosley fight. His defense isn't very good in my opinion. More often then not his thinking of a way to hit you with a good shot and doesn't focus enough on guarding or stepping side to side. He relies on his speed and his intent to hit you first, and pays very little attention to his defense because he's never really had to.

Mosley relies on reflexes which don't work on fighters with quick hand speed. His best defense is his offense. Manny with guards up in front of his face will completely or partially block punches of any speed and then follow up counters. Debatable but IMO Manny has better defense then Mosley.
