Why does everyone hate cavaliers, I don't care what it sounds like, what it looks like, or how fast it goes, it's a great car. They last a long time, my 1996 cavalier has 220,000 miles on it, and it still runs like a champ!

Throw a 15 psi supercharger, headers and exhaust on the mustang and u would be very disappoined in your cavalier. my 1998 mustang gt with 70 mm throttle body, cai, aluminum pulleys, superchip, and x pipes with flowmaster has beat every 4 cylinder i have race turbo or supercharged. Youll never beat a mustang v8 with similar modes as yours.....cavaliers suck

Yes it was, it was a slow turd. But for it's age especially here in Michigan looked very clean. The owner actually takes care of it unlike most Mustangs you see on the road.
a few things i noticed. 1st that is a gt, but it is a pre 99 gt meaning non pi car. for those of you that dont know the non pi mustangs were rated at somewhere around 225 hp at the motor where the 99-04 mustangs where rated 260. bit od a difference. 2nd you were pulling away, good for you! but the rapid drop off at the end where he disapears is because od traffic he was coming up on. lastly, ive run a 13.3 with my bolt on 2000gt street tires what do you run?
Judging by the cars I usually beat or run very close to on a consistant basis on the weekends here in Flint, on a cool night my car runs within mid-high 13's. The only 2 days I've went to the track, the first time was with my 35series tires on 19" wheels and it ran a 14.3 - I'd imagine a half second better or so with the drag radials on 16" wheels.
thats not bad for fwd and not having on heavy wheels makes a huge difference. When i got my 18s i lost .5 over my 17s. but now im hoping to sc this winter so booya to more power.
When you're racing you have to look at the driver too. Pretty much any schmuck can be seen driving a stock Mustang GT, however it's much more likely that a person driving a supercharged anything will know what he is doing or at least think he knows what he is doing. That aside, I have no idea why anyone would dump tons of money into any front wheel drive car.
lmao supercharged cavalier is around 198 hp if done right can be higher up to 220... my redline walked many many mustangs from 96 - 2010 but i had over 330 hp and 290 lb of tq with limited slip, only lost to a 2008 shelby cobra

lol, this would be a fair race if both cars were stock. that period of the mustang had 210hp or so. cavalier probably had 155, but its lighter. add boost to the cavalier, and the outcome of the race is perfectly predictable
I'm not so sure I'd give a shit about beating a 220 HP Mustang GT....Mustang sounds and looks fairly stock. Its a 14-15 second car. If its was a SVT/Cobra, ok maybe a little...But even then, the 94-98 Mustangs weren't really anything special. And as someone else pointed out, the Mustang had a car in front of it....So damn him for being safe! Go take your POS Cavalier and race a REAL mustang GT and see what happens

@Roln19s In my many, many, many years of looking at mustangs, I have never seen a 95 GT that has a 4.6. Where did you see this info? Unless it has an engine swap, all 95's had a 3.8 (?? I think) V6 or the 5.0 V8. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

Traction is the determnating factor actully! Cavalier with 80% of the power going to the front right wheel vs the mustang with rear wheel drive and a positive traction rearend from the factory. As for power to weight, when you accel hard all the vehicals weight shifts to the rear planting the rear tires!

I gave the poor LT1 and the Charger a car lentgh head start, Beat the Mustang Straight up Street Racing, Beat him by more than a few lengths.
My car is 1.3-1.5 seconds Slower with my 20" wheels on the front compared to when I have my 16" drag Radials on the front. I raced my buddies Fox Body 5.0 High Output with Flowmaster exhaust and 373 rear gears. WITH MY 20's on he got my by about 2 car lenghts.

Throw a 15 psi supercharger, headers and exhaust on the mustang and u would be very disappoined in your cavalier. my 1998 mustang gt with 70 mm throttle body, cai, aluminum pulleys, superchip, and x pipes with flowmaster has beat every 4 cylinder i have race turbo or supercharged. Youll never beat a mustang v8 with similar modes as yours.....cavaliers suck

a few things i noticed. 1st that is a gt, but it is a pre 99 gt meaning non pi car. for those of you that dont know the non pi mustangs were rated at somewhere around 225 hp at the motor where the 99-04 mustangs where rated 260. bit od a difference. 2nd you were pulling away, good for you! but the rapid drop off at the end where he disapears is because od traffic he was coming up on. lastly, ive run a 13.3 with my bolt on 2000gt street tires what do you run?

Judging by the cars I usually beat or run very close to on a consistant basis on the weekends here in Flint, on a cool night my car runs within mid-high 13's. The only 2 days I've went to the track, the first time was with my 35series tires on 19" wheels and it ran a 14.3 - I'd imagine a half second better or so with the drag radials on 16" wheels.

When you're racing you have to look at the driver too. Pretty much any schmuck can be seen driving a stock Mustang GT, however it's much more likely that a person driving a supercharged anything will know what he is doing or at least think he knows what he is doing. That aside, I have no idea why anyone would dump tons of money into any front wheel drive car.

I'm not so sure I'd give a shit about beating a 220 HP Mustang GT....Mustang sounds and looks fairly stock. Its a 14-15 second car. If its was a SVT/Cobra, ok maybe a little...But even then, the 94-98 Mustangs weren't really anything special. Not Hating, simply pointing out the Obvious.
My car is 1.3-1.5 seconds Slower with my 20" wheels on the front compared to when I have my 16" drag Radials on the front. I raced my buddies Fox Body 5.0 High Output with Flowmaster exhaust and 373 rear gears. WITH MY 20's on he got my by about 2 car lenghts.
With the 16's, he can't cacth me.
So, NOT HATING. Stating facts.
