I knew Tpt. players Bill Stapleton and Joe Rodrigues at N. Texas...they were brilliant as kids....it's amazing how all jazz styles peaked by the mid-1970's....how come we haven't a single new style or original mind since Miles, Coltrane or Jarrett or the 1970's rebirth of big bands?
Guess Wynton Marsalis helped develop a generation of "Young Fogies"...
Rare Footive of a Great Band and Song..Got to hear it Live in 1978 while attending Auburn University..Woody Herman and the Thundering Herd played a Free Concert!! Thx for the Post!!!
La Fiesta! An exciting '73 chart in 6/8 that Woody kept in the book for a dozen years or so. Got to see the Herd play this live on several ocassions. Bravo Chick Corea.
