@MrPoupard Lol. the madhatter0110 sounds like a pompas ass new endlander. he always nows best. way to unsafe he says. we do have some... what do i call them.... people... or are they people.... over here that are first class city slickers. like grandpa and his grandpa grew up in the city before him. and they have no idea which way is up any more.
@shaggyfeller A third grader can spell better than you. I am POMPOUS and do KNOW best and you don't even know the difference between to and too. Then again I shouldn't expect anything else from you because after all Australia was once a prison colony.
@madhatter0110 ok heres to and too,and two, and 2? your from new jersey aint you? you sound like a cocksucker, so you must be from news jersey.you voted for osama or i mean obama, didnt ya? fuck off you new endlanders are trash.
@shaggyfeller Yet you still prove YOUR grammar is poorer than that of a third grader. YOU'RE in need of schooling. Step away from the computer and get back to school.
most of them use a 18, or 20 speed gear box, there very easy to drive , most of the time the trailers will follow you just have to check for people who want to over take you, no you dont have to peep your horn for that reason its just a let the driver know you are thanking him for letting them over take safely
@madhatter0110 Yeah a real hazard on those deserted, flat, straight highways. They are banned in the city, they are only allowed to be used in remote areas.
I heard a long time ago that you are supposed to honk the horn if u meet a road train so they wont fall asleep (lol) out on those roads. Is this true?
Damn this shit is crazy!!! and here I was thinking that I was a big shot because I just got my California Class A permit today and will be driving a 53 footer which is the biggest California allows...I feel puny now lol..
most interstate truck drivers I know make good money , one friend of mine makes around 3000 dollars a week , but thats a shit load of driving. my uncle drives a large kenworth carting cream in a huge tanker he makes a bloody fortune.
so as i said like 9 months ago about these road trains hitting Aboriginals .. the guys came into work again and told me this is true that some trucks dont stop for abariginals but merly run them over ..and dont even call them in to local local authorities he said he was in a truck when this happened anyone heard of this too?
@YOEATURBALLZ Its true, some local authorities in outback towns reccomend no one stop for aboriginals. They tell you to run them down (only if you need too, of course you can swerve to avoid them) then call it in. It is sad but true.
@behn7 any truck driver that thinks steep grades and windy roads are a big deal hasnt done much driving. If you think you deserve special credit for that then you had better stay in canada or the u.s and continue patting your self on the back!
RED-NOSE is for an Aussie charity research fundraiser 25th July each year, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, (SIDS) Est 1988 (NOT any thing to do with fat bloke, red suit, and reindeers)
@behn, Get a clue, they have an XCLNT safety record, going back 3+ decades ! (WHY POST DUMB COMMENTS WITHOUT PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OF A SUBJECT) come here for a holiday and sprout off, you'll be shown some of our other type of hospitality. you just stick to driving your old LTL with 350hp up & down the Rockies and leave the real operating to the MEN !!
hmm, canadians telling the ausies that there roadtrains are dangerous and would be fucked in the rockies!! haha, mate, do just even a little bit of research, maybe watch another roadtrain vid on here and see the environment that these rigs work in, and have been since the 80's. 50 degree plus heat, bull dust, cattle roads...even narrow windy ones, river crossings in the wet season. these boys get through anything.
hehehe, good point. But actually they do this with everything from Fuel to Farm Animals. So no it's not greed, it's practicality in an enormous country!
What do you care for. All you POS libs are on welfare and eating your free Gov cheese anyway. The Aussies have had road trains for over 40 years. That's the way they do it down under. If you ever got a job you would realize that. Now go jerk off to your O Sambo posters maggot. LOL!
the truck company on the video would be 50-50 cat vs cummins and 50-50 mack vs kenworth. worked on them in Alice Springs for a few months. C16 cats seem to have soft heads and fuel system bypasses injector pressure when the ambient temp gets above 45C. Cummins just use oil which scares owners.
True, the C16s are basically a bored out C15, so the block is weaker and they are not as good as a C15 engine. But in the north west of WA Cat is King (C15s).
@ned987 true mate you learn pretty quick to always give a road train plenty of room. they are excellent drivers champ never had a problem with them. my dad used to drive them in the 70's
the only reason they are legal in australia is because the roads in the australian outback are straight enough and long enough to have them. the roads in canada aren't like that and it would cause all sorts of trouble in canada to have them
i am extremely thanful to you for putting this video here. i was telling me about the road trains and he was so excited to see it. this was the first video i found on yt. he loved it so do i. here in india, we dont have roadtrains and thats why its very exciting thing to know...thanks a lot....
He's not actually delivering those tanks of gas- theyre just the fuel tanks needed for the truck to haul it's own fuel round.
